Work Text:

"Typical... I have something I want to say." said Context. Typical had always been Context's friend, ever since Language-Features introduced them to each other. And now, Context is confessing to Typical, they've always been in the same sentence, same phrase, all for the AS 1.1. The AS 1.1 had many ideas linked together, but Typical and Context were pivotal to get achieved.

"What is it, Context?" Typical had noticed the other idea's expression, which was one of hesitance. Typical has known Context for a long time that they know Context isnt shy.

"I just... I like you, Typical."

"I like you too, Context." Typical gave Context a soft smile.

"No, I mean that I like you, like you... like, romantically."

Oh.
Oh.

"That's... that's great, Context!" Typical exclaimed, but Context heard the idea's disgust in their voice. "I–I didn't know you felt that way towards me, Context, I-um, thanks." Typical was tripping over their words as the thought of getting together with their friend Context grossed them out.

"Just, nevermind, forget I said anything." Context choked as tears started to well up in their eyes. They turned on their heels before running away.

Typical stood underneath the cherry blossom tree until the sun went down that day. They felt guilty and like there was a knot in their stomach. They couldn't possibly return Context's feelings. It's, just, weird.

The next day, Context didn't show up in the Response Essay, where they and Typical always hung out. Typical thought about calling Context or maybe asking Language-Features if they knew where the idea was, but they decided to just give their friend some space.

Typical started scrolling on Instagram to pass the time when they saw Context's new post. It was Context and... Atypical? When did Context start hanging out with their half sibling, Typical thought.

With haste, Typical immediately called Atypical, asking for an explanation.

"Atypical, why the fuck did you go to the Standard with Context?” Typical furrowed their eyebrows.

“Woah, not even a hello, Typical?” Atypical started, a smirk already forming on their face. “Your friend Context just needed my ‘comfort’.”

“You bastard… What did you do to them?” Typical growled.

“Let's just say, we had a ‘powerful effect’ earlier.”

No. No, that can't be. Typical doesn't even like Context like that, so why are they running towards Atypical’s sentence like they needed to save their friend?

Typical kicked down the door and on Atypical's comma was a naked Context, along with the fucker’s smug face. Without hesitation, Typical punched their half-sibling on their stupid dum-dum face. Atypical fell to the floor, mouth agape.

Typical said, “Don't ever touch Context again.” before taking their coat and wrapping it around their unconscious friend. NCEA, please, let them wake up. Typical repeated in their head until they arrived at the Hospital.
