The Number 1 Mascot in the World

Summary:

In one universe, Hatsune Miku collects Cinnamoroll plushies. In another, Cinnamon collects Hatsune Miku posters.

(Although the original idea for this was meant to be a subversion of the "Sharing a Bed" trope, I didn't think it was strong enough and moved it to the Free Day.)

This doubles as a late Cinnamon birthday drabble and Miku day drabble. Due to my writing / posting schedule falling way behind, I missed both; although I forgot to track Cinna's birthday to begin with and didn't realize it'd come. RIP taking part in a Sanrio store sale, maybe next year.

Work Text:

In one world, Hatsune Miku settled into a Cinnamoroll-themed bed, every edge of it being bordered by a different Cinnamoroll plushie. The one with the privilege of being wrapped into her arms as she slept was the birthday boy one sold for this year's Cinnamon birthday.

Meanwhile, in another world, Cinnamon tucked himself in with a Hatsune Miku blanket, in a room with Hatsune Miku posters on every wall. In the morning, which would be the affectionately titled "Miku Day" (distinct from her birthday), he would be awoken by a Miku clock that'd ring out one of her iconic songs.

Notes:

The idea I jotted down in my notes was so short that I ended up making it a simple drabble. But I managed to reach 100 words without even counting as I wrote or doing any tracking until after I wished, which I was really proud of.

In case it wasn't clear: they live in different universes where the other is a fictional mascot / idol.

A few details about the drabble: originally Miku had the blanket, but I decided a Cinnamoroll bed would make more sense visually than a Hatsune Miku bed and swapped them. A similar plushie situation is going on with my bed; idk if a birthday Cinna plush was released but I assumed that regardless, people reading would be like "yeah that tracks". As for the alarm clock, I actually just recently unboxed my Cinnamoroll alarm clock where one of the options is voice lines of him as the "alarm" - rather than give that Miku, I decided to imagine a Miku version of it, since she already had the plushie detail and I thought that'd be more fitting than Cinnamon having Miku plushies.

Also: I got a bone to pick with AO3 not having proper Cinnamoroll / Sanrio tags, as well as Cinnamon not being referred to by proper name! /hj
