"I'm not talking to a dumb tablet. Come out yourself, or just leave me alone."
Those were the words that forced Idia to step out of his room. At first he told himself it was to give Leona a piece of his mind over the "dumb tablet" comment, but really he just didn't want to face potential ire from the other housewardens over falling to retrieve him.
Why did they shove this on me, anyway? They're all perfectly capable of snatching him. It's not like we don't know most of his napping spots...
Such a thing would be Ruggie Bucchi's job, but conveniently he was sick enough to be bedridden for the day. With his usual "babysitter" out for the count, Leona had taken the opportunity to disappear from every and all duties for the day, including the ongoing housewarden meeting. And because Idia had contributed little to the conversation, Azul had declared the role of lion-wrangling to be his.
Stepping into the greenhouse, Idia took note of the warm weather inside that wasn't to the point of feeling stuffy in his hoodie. His tablet was built with all sorts of features - mainly so he could test his limits in inventing - so he already knew about the temperature. That was one of the factors that helped him deduce where Leona would be. Yet the feeling of it on his skin was different from reading on a screen.
He followed the path his tablet took when it scanned the area for Leona's heat signature, finding him still curled up in a bed of bushes.
"I'm here," Idia said. "Now get up."
Leona didn't even open his eyes. Yet Idia could tell that he was awake.
"Come on, you aggroed me, and now you won't even acknowledge me?" Idia reared one foot back, ready to give Leona a light kick full of his building agitation. He didn't even want to be out here. He didn't want there to be a stupid meeting today either, yet he still bothered to send his tablet and split some of his attention away from his games! He-
Found himself on the ground.
Before his leg could even connect to Leona's back, the senior had already flipped over in a flash and grabbed it. With a tug that only had to take half his strength, he brought Idia crashing to the ground, halfway on top of him.
"What the-?!" That exclamation wasn't just from the sudden counter-attack, but the fact that as soon as Idia was grounded, Leona had ensnared him in his limbs.
"Perfect," Leona purred, rubbing the side of his face into Idia's chest. "Better than a bunch of twigs and leaves."
He continued to make himself comfortable, while Idia laid frozen in astonishment and nerves.
Wait a sec. Did I just get roped into being a cat bed?!
To his credit, he didn't immediately go along with it. However, after a full minute of his squirming being thwarted by the strength of someone who actually went outside and lifted weights, Idia gave up on any plan of escape. Instead, he recalled the tablet in his hoodie pocket and realized this situation could be a benefit.
Later, when the rest of the housewardens chided him for failing to produce Leona, he acted as if his search didn't turn up anything; he'd rather die than ever let them find out that for hours, he just played games on his tablet while letting Leona sleepily cuddle him.
That being said, neither was he unwilling to do something like this again... With a lot more forewarning, at least!
(Leona, meanwhile, was a bit confused why he woke up on top of Idia - apparently Ruggie's flu had gone straight to his head or something. Yet he also found himself considering future repeats of this event.)
