Fett was suddenly standing very close to where Luke sat, his hand still holding Luke’s in a solid but not rough grip. “It means I’ve got things in mind,” Fett answered, not at all clearing things up for Luke. He lingered for another long moment, making Luke’s brain feel oddly foggy from his proximity, before he finally released Luke’s hand and stepped back. “See you around, Skywalker.”

Basically the idea here is in a modern setting, where Luke wasn't indirectly responsible for Boba's accident and scars, Boba would take one look at him and call dibs. That's it, that's the fic. -

Summary
After the destruction of the second Death Star and the death of Darth Vader, Luke struggles to accept the loss of his father and decides that, instead of trying to emulate the Jedi of old, he'll contribute to the galaxy by becoming a vigilante bounty-hunter.
Problem: he knows nothing of bounty hunting. Solution: Anakin Skywalker, just returned to the Light, is a most helpful Force-ghost who suggests his son to look for Boba Fett, best bounty-hunter in the galaxy.
Fortunately for Luke, Boba is too good to die in the Sarlacc pit.

Luke takes a slow breath. “-another strong, fierce man who always wore a helmet. He had done as much bad in life as he had good. He had suffered, he had lost, he was lonely. Then he lost his way. But I still- I always loved him. In the end, he was a good man at heart. I know he did the unforgivable but I couldn’t help it. I still loved him a lot. He died in my arms. I miss him. And I guess I wonder whether- If he met his son as an infant, would he have changed for the better like you did? If he got to hold his baby just once, would it all have been different?”
