The Past That Binds Us

Summary:

So like what if 4c sees similarities between bannerfall, lifesteal, and unstable. This will probably be one shot stories connecting the 3 servers though 4c.

be warned that I haven't watched all bannerfall POVs and I'm behind on 4c's POV, also I only watch 4c cause he posts VODS on yt

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Death. Something pretty much unavoidable. 4C looked at the sun rays illuminating the Blue Kingdom from on top a hill. He thought about everything going on, the war, the lies, the fighting… everything.

4C’s mind went back to Noms words, “I’d rather die than kill Katie.”

He said it with so much confidence… He’d rather die. He wouldn’t fight Katie, and honestly, 4C respected that. Those words made 4C think about how long Nom would stay by those words, “I won’t fight her.”

The Blue and Red Kingdoms, they reminded 4c so much of Lifesteal, and Unstable. Well not in the monarch ruled way, because everyone knows that never ends well in Lifesteal or Unstable, though with Parrot the new king maybe that will change, but with all the lies and the fighting mixed in with some betrayal. The war between the Red and Blue Kingdoms reminded him of all the conflicts of Lifesteal the fighting against the Invisible Mafia and the Law, everything that could have been solved peacefully but never was, and probably never will be.

4c thought about Owain’s words from a few days ago, “I want to rip the Red Kingdom to shreds.” Honestly 4c thought that was a bit dramatic but, who was he to say that, he lived in both Unstable and Lifesteal, where drama was found in every corner. Where lies and betrayal were the second natures of everyone.

He supposed that was just the nature of the worlds. People don’t change their minds easily, 4c knew that well. In all honesty he liked this world, Bannerfall gave him a joy he hasn’t had in a while.

He wasn’t even expected to fight, or he wasn’t expected to be good at it anyway. The skills of a rouge, 4c mused silently. He was always a good rouge, the God of Rouges could take his skills and his soul, make him worse at backstabbing and pickpocketing, but he was always inherently good at being silent, at walking with no noise, and sneaking around.

You had to be, if you wanted to survive Unstable, and most importantly Lifesteal. 4c thought about his tunnel system he had been slowly making, and it reminded him about the tunnel rats from Lifesteal. How they would all dig the tunnels, how anyone who found them joined them.

As he gazed down at the kingdom he spotted Katie and Nom playing farkle, Cherri and Apo were there as well. A small smile played on his lips, the two kingdoms could be united and not fight each other, he just didn’t understand why they refused to make peace. Actually no, 4c did understand why they don’t make peace with each other. Like in Unstable, when it came to the fight against the Law, Lettucek thought he was in the right, that he was helping the server, but that blinded him to the true harm he was causing. Here, both the kingdoms think they’re in the right, they don’t want to be the ones to surrender.

4c looked at the sunset again, yeah, death was unavoidable, it didn’t discriminate, death came for those who deserved it and those who didn’t. The Law Men who were sent out as lambs to be slaughtered, just to make people vote for Lettuce in the election. Maybe things would change, but even that... still seems so unlikely.
