The pillows had collapsed and Bacon was buried.
He wasn't the one who built it, it wasn't his fault, but it looked more stable than this! How it had randomly collapsed was beyond him, but he was blaming Planet and Jaron for any pillow-related injuries.
With the amount of pillows and blankets involved, getting out was harder than it should've been, not helped by the struggles of his friends.
Jaron was already sitting on top of the pile, legs buried, when Bacon escaped. Planet followed soon after, rolling on their back to stare up at the ceiling.
“How did you guys fail to build a pillow fort?” Bacon needed to know this. It was almost impressive with how many stable ones they've made before.
“To be fair, it didn't fall until you came in.” Jaron pulled himself the rest of the way out, nearly falling over as he did. “I think you're the problem here.”
“You broke the fort!” Planet sat up, accusing Bacon of something he didn't do. “Why did you break it?”
“I didn't break it, you guys didn't build it right!” If it was built right, it wouldn't have fallen! It wasn't Bacon's fault the construction was faulty. “What, did I breathe on it wrong?”
“Yeah,” Planet rolled their eyes. “Do you like, have something against pillows?”
“Are you a pillow hater, Bacon?” The fact that Jaron had picked up a pillow didn't bode well. “Is that why you broke it?”
So his friends hated him, okay. False accusations of breaking a pillow fort targeting him.
“I didn't—” Bacon brought his arms up just in time to block the pillow from hitting him head on.
“Pillow fight!” Planet chirped immediately, lighting up as they grabbed a pillow.
Bacon grabbed his own and hit them with it first.
