Erzsébet climbs onto the bed and sits next to Madeline, so close that their legs press against each other. "A couple of reasons," she murmurs, like she's trying not to scare her off, "One, because you're so very, very cute. Two, I think it'd be fun. Three, and perhaps most importantly, you're not quite so subtle as you might think, staring at me with those adorable little doe eyes of yours just about every time I've ever been in the same room as you."
Madeline has had a crush on Erzsébet since she met the older woman centuries ago, but knew from the start that it wouldn't amount to anything, especially since it was unlikely that Erzsébet even knew, not to mention her relationship with Roderich.
