“We don’t need the master sword anymore, Link. It is time to let it go.”
Link turned his gaze away from hers. Any of his emotions which may have been on the verge of coming to the surface were quickly shoved back down. For the first time in perhaps a hundred years, she watched Link don the expressionless mask she was once so accustomed to. The sight of it made her want to burst into tears.
“No.” was all he said before he grabbed the master sword and left.
A series of Zelink one shots taking place post BOTW and pre TOTK. This is the story of how Link and Zelda went from being close friends to lovers while living together in Link's Hateano home and mourning their lost friends as well as Link's lost love, Mipha. This fic was inspired by the major changes in Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom and my interpretations about how Link and Zelda felt about them.
