Sam had heard the stories. Any and all of them. Even as a vampire, they had their own cautionary tales. Folklore, mythical, religious, call it whatever you please; he was familiar with most of them. Whether he’d been told during his childhood or from research in his older years to better understand his heritage, it was safe to say he lived through what others experienced — or so they said. Having grown up in Louisiana, the legends went from the regular werewolf superstition all the way to the Rougarou, born from Cajun culture. He had heard every version there was, and that's saying something. Even his nephews now came up with new morbid details to the already terrifying concepts (for those their age, of course).
