Chapter Text
Part 1: The Hospital
When Linnea ran away she was 16. She was fed up and tired of her alcoholic dad, Grimace. Within the first day of escaping, She was captured by the Brookhaven Hospital for experiments, Linnea was an interest to the government because of her purple skin. She was hauled away in a truck to go be a lab experiment. When she first got into the hospital she was lonely and deemed “dangerous” by the doctors. They experimented on her nevertheless. After a couple months of being heavily drugged daily, the doctors believed she was finally “stable” enough to sometimes interact with the other experiments, such as lunch hour or free time. Eating alone one day, a tall, ginger girl walked up to the table she was eating at, and struck up a conversation. After a while, she and this strange girl had become quite close. The more they talked, the more they revealed stuff about themselves. Like how this girl was born here, and her name was Detoxifications. Linnea thought she was good friends with Detoxifications, but had never felt this way about a “friend” before, she tried to convince herself it was because she never had many friends before. Not being able to talk much, because of all the tests and experiments, Linnea and Detoxifications started exchanging letters to each other at lunch to read later, Detox always sealed hers with a sticker of a ladybug, which Linnea saved each time and had a growing collection of. After around a year of friendship (and repressed feelings) with “Detox”, something of course had to happen because good things (even if it’s a small part in a vast, treacherous hospital) always have to come to an end. Late one night, at around 12:45 am, Detoxifications burst into Linnea’s room frantically.
“What’s going on?” Linnea questioned, because if you were caught outside of your room past lights out, there were serious “consequences”.
“I’m leaving. Busting out of this place.” Detox responded
Linnea entered a state of panic and confusion
“Where are you going? Who are you going with? How? Will I ever see you aga-“
Detoxifications left a gentle kiss on her lips.
“I’ll find you somehow, I know I will”
And with that, she was gone.
