Tick tock little Wizard

Summary:

Wizard cookie had always had a fascination with time travel.

The ancient Wizards were able to manipulate time to their very whims in their own city, to control the grasp of time with a flick of their hand on a clock to make it an eternal night sky in their city.

Time travel seems impossible for any normal cookie could do, and maybe even with cookies with a soul jam it seemed out of their reach.

Well, maybe not? None of them are really interested in time travel as far as he knows, and well none of them really have a reason to time travel or the ability to time travel.

Well maybe White Lily cookie, but she hadn’t mentioned anything if she has any interest, as there's certainly a motivation to time travel but not right now.

Notes:

Okay so timeline wise, if anyone is curious, this au technically diverges off from the Millennial tree update, like right before the guardians of nature go to the cookie kingdom. I'm not quite sure what to do with the dark enchantress war, but I just know there is a chance I might kill off some characters, and I'm just saying this as a warning/future heads up, okie by have fun reading!

Chapter Text

Asking her might be a bad idea as of now, with Dark Enchantress cookie still running around with her plans threatening Earthbread, maybe he should ask her later. Plus, the other ancients haven’t got in contact with her, and the beast of silence refuses to speak on anything.

Then again he wouldn’t be called the beast of silence without a reason if he wasn’t quiet.

Well either way his research has been going along nicely as soon as he got a hold of some Time jumpers. He’s not completely sure who exactly made them and why they are being discarded, but he has his theories that these objects are deeply connected to the Wizards. Considering their city was able to control time itself.

And with his little experiments he started off small, he used it on some things, like nothing too important if it blew up on his face, such as the jellybean farms. Well, maybe that is important for the cookie kingdom and all, but it didn’t blow up in his face! Or the farms, the farms are perfectly safe, and it fast forwarded the production and mostly everything around him. It was strange, but fascinating how everything else was affected, except for him. The results were strange how every other cookie had memories of doing the things they were doing during the hour he skipped, but it just made him more fascinated by the unknowns of time magic.

He just wishes that the time jumpers he found appeared normally and not from a sharp magic spike from some mysterious place for him to track down on his own in a hour.

He still hasn’t managed to scrub the Choco swamp stains from one of his pairs shoes, why did that have to spawn in the swamp of all things?

Even if it was worth it, with that one being the most pristine condition, even for a few hours before it crumbled on his desk.

Well there was an incident with another cookie with the time jumper but they were quite frankly, insane and out of communication for now, it’s not like he could just interview them on the process of time travel wherever they went.

And thats assuming that they're still here.

And now he’s on the search for another time jumper, all the ones he’s used have crumbled or too many pieces were lost after use, which was a shame since one, he’s not exactly an inventor or a watch maker, and two he’s a wizard, and he studies magic.

And the magical artifact he is studying just so happens to be extremely fragile that immediately breaks when used, which is just not fair! One time, after he used it, he managed to prevent it from crumbling immediately, and when he was taking it apart he barely touched the minute hand and the whole thing crumbled into tiny pieces immediately! It was one of the most frustrating weeks of his life, and he was extremely careful with it too! He’s not clumsy like Gingerbrave is!

But either way they’re so damn fragile it’s annoying having to track them down because they can randomly disappear whenever! Theres no logic behind those stupid things, but he can’t give up now.

He’s a wizard, and the ancient Wizards from the city of wizards conquered the ability to control time itself! He must know how they did it, and maybe that could lead him to finding out what happened to the Wizards themselves!

Well, hopefully a map of some sort if he’s extremely lucky, but the probability of that happening is extremely low, so perhaps a clue of some sort in a journal, or even a name to a location of that mysterious spot they had chosen to leave their city for.

There's a small reflection of light almost hidden by the dirt.

Aha!

There it is!

The mana coming from the time jumper was buzzing with life now that he’s closer to it.

‘How fascinating,’ he thinks, ‘does the presence of a cookie with mana influence them when the time limit is up?’

Or do they go dormant when they are not found in time?

So many theories, and yet so little answers if he just stands around and gawks at the object.

The mana inside the time jumper felt different than the other time jumpers he had gotten ahold of, almost familiar in a way?

Where would he have felt this magic that had imbued itself with this time jumper?

He remembers when he felt the Crescent moon magic from the blueberry yogurt academy, and from Shadow Milk cookie’s spire, this felt like theirs but different, how would he logically explain such feeling. It felt like Crescent moon magic but not at the same time. It felt old, but young, a constant contradiction in the making as the mana around from the time jumper flowed.

When he finally digs out the time jumper, he notices how strange it looks. There's parts of it that look different than the ones from before. More like whispers from the time jumper than buzzes of magic. He grazes his hand on the clock and he hears the jumper tick loudly before glowing brightly in his hand.

“Ah fiddle sticks.” He says before the light consumes him.

Notes:

Hello everyone I have snorted too much cookie crumbles and then I had a whole outline and four side stories that are directly influenced by the events of this fic and choices made by the characters

Sorry if Wizard cookie sounds OOC, I wanted to lean into the more childish part of him, even though he's a very smart cookie, he's still a kid, a traumatized kid but either way I feel like he's probably more childish when he's alone away from the Gingerbrave gang, because theres no one to show off his knowledge to and no one to wrangle away from danger to be suspicious.

Also I like using Crescent moon magic instead of Dark moon magic, it just sounds prettier to me, but I might use it interchangeably
