"Finally I have done it", Baxter says while putting the vial that was once filled with one micro liter of uranium on his desk very gently to avoid messing up his other great experiments.
Ever since Vox attempted to start a war/invasion of Heaven, there have been increased chances of potential war breaking out, and Baxter knew this. So ever since that day Baxter has been working non-stop in making a way to be immune to Angelic steel and basically anything that can permanently kill a sinner(well except God but whatever). Day and Night he worked and worked, with the only time he didn't work was when Mr puzzles attacked the hotel which thankfully was stopped by the "Queen of Hell; Lillith", finally returning(after being absent for like 7 years).
Baxter got up from his chair to go and grab some dinner from the fridge, Since he knew that all the fast food stores of Hell close at 11:59:59pm and it was 12:00:00am he had to resort to the fridge.
"I wonder what is in the fridge?Maybe some of Niffty's muffins or Jessica's kimchi, or Alastor's jambalaya are left. Well hopefully they are as they are the quickest things I can have for dinner since I still need to see if the serum still wo-."
Suddenly Baxter hears a lot of clattering and chittering being made. Which makes Baxter sigh in frustration and turn his neck around only to see Niffty on his desk with a broom and dustpan "Cleaning" his desk.
Baxter screamed in shock because of a bunch of his experiments, and what to do in case they go wrong and he still needed to test his anti-angelic serum. which was the most important thing there out of the bunch, so he rushed to his desk to save it and prevent it from spilling or breaking.
"Oh hey Bax~," Niffty says to Baxter as he is scrambling through the remains of past experiments that had now been ruined due to Niffty's cleaning. It was extremely difficult since she was still cleaning the desk while looking at Baxter.
"AH-HA FOUND IT!" Baxter says in a relieved tone unaware that Niffty accidentally spilled one of the worst experiments he had ever created when he still worked for Vox. A mutation serum that could mutate anything into a being that if mutated from the wrong person could lead to a calamity that would rival even the worst calamities that had happened in hell before and sadly it had spilled on some leftover angelic steel.
Baxter and Niffty heard some squelching noise and look to the right only to see vines coming from one of the other desks which motivates Baxter to quickly grab Niffty and start running as fast as he could....or at least what he considered running considering the fact that he was short as hell but luckily the mutated creature was slower then the two short demons....so they were able to escape the basement and close the door to it.
Baxter sighs in fear while Niffty looks at him in worry and almost touches his shoulder the two of them hear a very loud crash making the two demons quickly turn their necks around only to see a hole in the wall that was eerily similar to what the creature looked like. Baxter cursed angrily and rushed to the basement only to be met with the sight that the creature was gone, upon seeing this Baxter started looking for his tase-dart gun all the while Niffty started to come down back to the basement to see how she can help Baxter or know why he seems very agitated.
Baxter was eventually able to find it-the weapon he used in the stand-off against "The Vees",or more specifically Vox the "Media Overlord"/"The Electric Demon"-a tasegun that also functioned as a dart gun. Baxter upon finding it started loading it up with many different types of darts including a lethal one all the while Niffty's face started to form a maniacal smile as she realized that it was killing time. She quickly rushed to grab her angelic steel knife that she had used in the standoff against Adam a few months back. Baxter got back from the basement and headed towards the front door. He spots Niffty jumping up and down in excitement as she really wants to kill something again.
Baxter rolls his eyes in amusement but decides to let her come along and opens the door while holding the weapon in his hands as he and Niffty look at the rest of hell worryingily but they quickly compose themselves as they soon spot some track marks left behind by the creature allowing Baxter and Niffty to start following them which would hopefully help them find the creature and stop it before Hell can learn about what happened or worse Charlie and Vaggie finding out.
It didn't take very long for the two of them to spot the creature on a roof-top nearby the outskirts of the Pride ring. Once the creature spotted them it jumped off the roof and screeched an ear piercing scream at the two of them causing Niffty to react quickly and jump at the creature with the knife to strike the creature only to be pushed back by the tail that the creature had recently developed making Baxter realized it had already started mutating so he started shooting at the creature, but constantly missed and was over-powered by the creature.
As the creature got closer to Baxter Niffty came behind it trying to stab it like she did to Adam but failed and was just barely able to create a scratch on the creature allowing Baxter to quickly change positions and slid to the side to avoid being attacked by the creature allowing himself to get near Niffty for a more defensive position. While trying to get her knife, Niffty accidentally took the anti angelic power serum and tried to throw it...only to break it causing it to spill on both of them.
Baxter screams in shock as the serum from the vial the very thing he had been working on non stop for the last few months had been destroyed and it was all because of……
“YOU!”
Baxter begins to point to Niffty aggressively while not paying attention to the monster taking a pause to mutate further.
“Baxter Look the monster is-“
”THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT LIKE IF YOU DID NOT DECIDE TO CLEAN MY DESK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION NONE OF THIS WOULD BE HAPPENING! GOD NIFFTY, NO WONDER PEOPLE HATE YOU AND THINK YOU ARE A MESS!” Baxter yelled at Niffty causing silence to fill the air as Niffty stands there in shock but soon tears begin to draw from her eyes and she started crying a river while Baxter didn’t change his expression of anger as he believed that Niffty was in the wrong but quickly changes his attitude as he sees the monster now with a scorpion like tail right behind Niffty ready to strike, So he did the right thing and pushed Niffty out of the way but couldn’t get himself out the way and…..
Nifty screams out of shock at the sight of Baxter having been stabbed but her eyes widen from fear and sadness to shock and awe as she sees Baxter open his eyes and realize that he is alive and she sighs in relief.
Baxter on the other hand screams in joy as he realizes that his serum indeed worked and quickly gets the tail out of his body which while indeed it was a very excruciating pain he was able to do it luckily due to the creature being stunned at the sight at what it was seeing but it quickly ignores it as it decides to continue mutating.
Baxter then quickly takes out his tasegun and calls out to Niffty to help him stab the creature now and the two small demons quickly rush and start attacking the demon that can’t do anything when it is in the middle of mutating all the while they laugh maniacally.
“Yes we did High five Nif”
Then Baxter gets slapped by Niffty who then puts and looks away in anger. Baxter then realizes sighs as he rubs his face thats in slight pain.
“Look Nif I'm sorry for calling you a mess but the thing is that you can’t just go clean up people’s things without their permission otherwise stuff like this will happen”
“But that's all I can do other than killing bugs which oh look at that I can’t do all the time”, Niffty told Baxter with tear stains covering the bottom of her eyes. Silence fills the area as Baxter sighs and asks her
“Well, do you have any hobbies? Like um I don’t know gardening or drawing manga?”Baxter asks only to be met with silence as he realizes that Niffty does not have any hobbies or does anything hence why she has a big obsession with cleaning.
“You know what Niffty how about this I help you find something that can be a hobby for you and in return you do not clean everything unless someone asks you Niffty ok Niffty would you like that?
Niffty then turns her neck around and smiles embracing Baxter in a hug, “Apology accepted and sorry for spilling the formula onto us... .wait what is going to do with the creature’s dead body”.
Baxter then looks at the creature’s decaying body and then looks at Niffty in a way that Niffty knows what they now need to do……
“If anyone is awake right now me and Vaggie are ba-” charlie singingly says as she enters the hotel squeezing Vaggie’s hands gently while Vaggie for once seems contempt…before the two lovers see Baxter and Niffty pushing the creature’s dead body into the basement and closing it and high fiving each other before the two small demons notice them.”
“Charlie and Vaggie what a surprise you guys came earlier then expected anyways how was your da-”
“Baxter, you have 10 seconds to explain what happened while me and Char were gone, otherwise we are going to remove your privileges of using the basement to conduct your science experiments”, Vaggie said in a harsh tone which made Baxter's smile falter and make him intensely begin to sweat.
As Baxter opened his mouth ready to speak, Nifty to the surprise of him spoke up and said that everything was her fault and that she is sorry and will gladly accept any punishment given to her. Charlie on hearing this sighed and told Niffty that due to her recklessness she will not be allowed to kill bugs or clean for fun for a month and can only do it for work.
At first Niffty sighed when she heard it but then Baxter told her that they can use this oppurtunity to help Niffty find a new hobby and her face formed a smile as she was ready to see what the future entailed to her.
