Chapter Text
Hestia gave a severe frown towards the viewing pool as she saw her little ember be sent back to the nursery. None of the adults or other children of the family tried to comfort the confused little girl.
Instead they worried about the magic, the blessing she gave them a few years ago, and their community that began to whisper.
That wasn't good. It was an ill omen in fact.
Her little ember went to bed in tears and alone, none coming to comfort her. Could they not sense it? The powerful blessing the little one who held family before all else received?
The little one who had a lot of Hestias own traits? From the slight golden tint to her brown eyes, to the curl of her hair with slight undertones to resemble dancing flames... Then again she supposed she shouldn't be surprised. They attributes their blessing to Pedros sacrifice, which yes was part of the reason for their blessing but not the entire thing. Did they not know he had prayed to her specifically and begged her and sacrificed his life in her name to try and save his family?
She supposed she shouldn't be surprised that his widow did not know or if she did know did not think to give proper thanks or worship or understand where their blessings were from. She had thought she had made it obvious.
Giving the triplets parts of Apollos foresight, Zeus's weather and the healing of Apollo as well...she had thought the widow would understand or realize but she supposed she asked for too much there.
But her little blessing...the one who Hestia had personally blessed upon birth when the little one was born small and early...she was pushed to the side and ignored despite the blessing Hestia had gifted her being stronger than the rest of the family's.
And that....that child was the closest Hestia would have to a child of her own, and she did not like the look the Widow gave her little ember.
She could not just take away her blessing immediately however, just as how she couldn't take away her little ember immediately. They had to fail three times, and yet they hadn't fully failed yet. Neither the blessing nor her ember.
But this...seeing her little ember cry herself to sleep and no one check on her, all focused on the candle...that made Hestias fists clench.
Her little one would need a family that would love and care for her, a family that would adore her but not spoil her, would protect her and yet teach her to protect herself as well.
She knew just the family, just the island for her little ember to thrive.
And while she couldn't fully send her little ember there until the Family failed her three times or until she saw the Amazons as family more than the Madrigals...there were some loopholes.
So with that in mind Hestia vanished in a swirl of fire and went in search for Psyche and Hypnos.
It was easy to get them to agree, Hestia rarely ever asked for help or favors and they were all too happy to help her.
Every night while she slept Hypnos would keep her safe and ensure her body and mind was rested. Psyche however had blessed the little one so that while her body and mind slept her soul would go to Themascyira. Would be able to be seen and interact with the Amazons there.
And Hestia knew the Amazons and how they all loved and treasured children, Diana had been the only child on the island and they had all collectively raised her and loved her.
So she and Psyche personally guiding her little embers soul to the Island and to Hippolyta...well even without her being guided straight to the Daughter of Ares Hestia knew her little ember would be adopted and loved by the Amazons immediately.
Of all Ares children over the centuries none embodied his Protector epithet as much as his favorite daughter did.
