Work Text:
Sometimes, James wonders what life might be like to be Sirius.
The man is undeniably gorgeous and gets hit on at every opportunity. Going out on the pull with him usually leaves him at the bar alone while Sirius is off with some bloke or bird dancing the night away.
He barely gets any attention, but next to Sirius, he would never expect it. Not when he knows just how gorgeous his best mate is.
He’s so effortlessly gorgeous and funny and sometimes, James just can’t help wondering what it might be like to be the person that Sirius is looking at like that. Like he can’t wait to take them home and have his way with them.
He wishes that it was him that was getting to dance with Sirius. That it was him that could run his hand down Sirius’ chest and whisper sweet nothings in his ear. That it was him that Sirius would take home and have his way with him.
He wants that more than anything.
He’s so lost in thought about the things he’d like Sirius to do to him that he completely misses Sirius’ return to the bar.
“Hey, ready to head home?”
James jumps. “Oh, er, you’re not going to take the bloke home?”
Sirius gives him a soft smile. “I’ve got my eyes on someone else.”
James tries not to let the disappointment show. “That’s nice.”
“Yes, it’s my adorably trying not to pout at the idea of me taking anyone else home best mate.”
Sirius is looking at him with a brilliant smile and glittering eyes, and he’s so lost in his eyes that it doesn’t register what he’s saying for a moment, but then…
“Oh! You – you mean me?”
Sirius hums. “Do I have another adorable best mate?”
James flushes. “I – er –”
He doesn’t know what to say. Luckily, Sirius doesn’t need words as he leans forward and presses his lips against James’.
James loves the softness, the way he tastes like the muggle whiskey, and the way that they instantly pull each other closer. He never wants this kiss to end, but Sirius, apparently, disagrees as he pulls back.
“Let’s take this home.”
“Gladly.”
