Chapter Text

Flux would like to say he had no regrets in life — He didn't regret killing the world leaders of pandora–He didn't regret forming the conspiracy to inact his plans and most of all.

He did not regret framing Saparata for the crimes that he had done. In his mind it was only right— It was for the safety of the all the nations from Pandora. It was so Pandora can unite and have mutual goals and so that all of them could agree to attack Yggdrasil once the border has dropped. They would have deserved it–with their violent propaganda against island two simply because they were not as fortunate with their own island.

But as he entered the colosseum he wondered if all he had done was really for the better. Seeing Saparata—thin, pale, with a cold expression on his face–he wondered if he had truly done the right thing.

Surely he did, Yggdrasil was going to attack first! They spread propaganda everywhere, claiming death be bought upon those from island 2. They were going to attack first—they were going to kill the people of island 2! He had done the right thi-

"You actually showed up?" He was snapped out of his thoughts. Saps's voice seemed tired. As if all the fighting has gotten to him and he was tired of it all. Tired of running and just waiting for this duel to be over with.

"Can't say no to a friend, can I?" Flux answered easily, with a grin on his face as he was preparing his gear for the duel. Thomas stood behind him. A few moments ago–before entering the colosseum. Thomas had asked Flux if he should step into the fight, so that he could have the upper hand and kill Saparata once and for all.

But he had declined, claiming that this duel needed to be fair, so that they could finally settle everything one on one. As he stepped inside the center of the colosseum—drawing his sword from it's sheath–he distantly remembers the time before all of this.

A time where he and the other conspiracy members were helping Saps. A time where Saps had a gentle, soft smile on his face–talking animatedly about the most random things. Like his plans for his vacation home. And now standing infront of him was the same man–tired, jaded, betrayed.

"Do you regret what you've done? To all the leaders you've killed for your stupid plan to unite Pandora so they could all attack Yggdrasil. To me– for using me as your scapegoat?" Saparata exclaimed in a hushed and hesitant voice.

Fluixon frowned, " It would have been easier if you had just died like intended–then you wouldn't have gone through all of this trouble. Though I will admit, I truly do feel sorry for all that has happend too you." He answered.

Fluixon then strikes–his movement elegant but dangerous and Saps quickly follows his own moves being trained and coordinated. The duel had begun. Swords can be heard clashing as the people around the stadium watched the two old friends fight on another. It was thrilling to watch, to see if the evil that had loomed over the server will finally die at the hands of the very person he has hurted the most.

It was clear to anyone who had the upperhand in this battle, Flux's gear being better and him being more skilled, but no one in the colosseum can deny the absolute determination they see on Saparata's eyes. They continued to fight each other until Flux noticed that Saps' wore an expression that could only be classified as contemplation. And Flux nearly stopped, was he hesitating?

After all Flux had done to him? After using him as a scapegoat in a plan that managed to kill 6 leaders of their island? Flux was on the verge of laughing, how could he forget? This was Saparata. Saps who only wanted to be alone and at peace, away from any of the conflict he knew was going to occur between the nations–Saps who truly believed that island 1 would not have attacked them, and believed they should send aid to the people of Yggdrasil and bring peace and unity to the entire server.

Saps who used to smile so gently at him, who now held nothing but resentment towards him.

His movements faltered and Saps was quickly able to take his sword and throw it across the field. Now without his weapon he was left defenceless and Saps was able to pin him down pointing a sword directly to his chest–ready to stab him and finally kill him for all he has done. "Do you have anything else to say?" Saps asked with a bitter tone that went in contrast with his hesitant face. He really was hesitating. If he didn't have Flux pinned too the ground right now, Flux was sure he would be laughing at Saps' stupidity.

"I don't regret anything." He smiled one last time to his friend

Saps frowned and suddenly–Stab! There was a sword in his chest, and he was dying. He smiled even more–facing Saparata one last time as memories came flooding in. One moment he was looking at Saps–oh so beautiful Saps. And the next it was all darkness and nothingness.

He stood up–was this the afterlife? He walked a few steps forward examining the area. Not that there was much too examine
It was just vast darkness all throughout. Then suddenly he heard a whirl–a much too familiar that signifies the presence of–

"Ish? Where am I?" Flux asked the floating figure in a suit. The figure–Ish, flew closer to him until he dropped down coming face to face with Flux. He smiled gently, "We're in the afterlife!" Flux frowned, if this was truly the afterlife–then surely there would be more players here?

Ish sighed, "Fine, this isn't the afterlife. I wanted to talk to you." Flux nodded, signalling for him too continue. "This story.. it–it isn't really the happiest ending that could have happend no?" Well–maybe not for him, not after all he's done anyways.

"I suppose not, but there isn't really anything we could do about it–it's not like we can turn back time." Flux answered, Ish was nodding his head slowly–as if in hesitant agreement. "Right! But what if we could?" Flux's eyes widened.

"What?" He exclaimed in a doubtful voice. Ish grinned and continued, "Well I am technically god, if I wanted too I could just turn time back so you can rewrite this story! So that everyone can get their happy endi–"

"I'm going to have too stop you right there. What makes you think I won't do the same things I did?" Flux said monotonously. Ish's grin widened impossibly. "I can read you thoughts you know? During that duel–you missed peace a time of no fighting– you miss him."

"What? I don't miss him! And I certainly don't regret anything i've done!" Flux exclaimed. Ish's grinned faltered, turning into a gentle smile once more, "I never mentioned anything about regret–of course you wouldn't regret it, you did what you believed was best in your own twisted way. What im saying is–don't you wanne live a happy life, one where all of the fighting could be prevented? One where he doesn't look so tired and just ready for everything to finally end?" Ish said, finishing off with a sigh.

"Look, you didn't hear this from me. But he was suffering, Flux–he was ready to end it all. He built a tower an he was–he was..." Ish trailed off with a frown on his face. Leaving Flux shocked, Saps was going too what?

"He was going too what??" Flux said in a hurried tone, his face contorting into something of deep concern. "He was going to jump Flux! He didn't believe it would be worth it too fight–he truly believed you had won, and that there was nothing else left for him!" Ish yelled.

Fluxixon's face contorted once more, "well it doesn't matter now does it? He has won." And Ish looked shocked for moment before his face solidified into a colder expression, "Flux, believe it or not. Saparata still cared for you. Despite all you did too him. And im worried that without you, there truly is nothing for him anymore. And he'll give up, and there will be nothing anyone can do!" Ish ranted.

Huh. Talk about favouritism. Ish would not turn back time just for anybody, but it had always been clear to anyone with eyes, whether from Yggdrasil or Pandora that the god clearly held a sort of affection for the white haired mediator.

He was quite curious tho–on how this would play out if he did agree with Ish's plan. Would he even remember his memories of this timeline? Can he save his fellow conspiracy members? Would he hurt Saparata again? He shook his head and met Ish eye to eye.

"Would I remember this timeline?" He asked cautiously. Ish nodded his head softly. And Flux sighed. "Fine, but what is the pl–"

He was interrupted, very rudely might he add. As Ish grinned and snapped his fingers and suddenly he was falling into the world. The same way he had at the very start of the original timeline. And there was only one thing on his mind.

'Ish is bastard.'
