Jealous (ver 1)

Summary:

Lee felix is jealous of jungkook's ex

Work Text:

Felix swore he wasn’t the jealous type.
He repeated it in his head while sitting on the edge of Jungkook’s couch, phone glowing in the dim apartment light.
I’m not jealous. I’m just curious.
That’s what he told himself as he scrolled through another photo.
Jungkook’s ex.
Another one.
Another smile. Another selfie. Another perfectly filtered life.
Felix zoomed in on a picture of her laughing at the beach. Her hair was longer than his. Her smile softer. She looked effortless.
His stomach twisted.
Behind him, Jungkook’s voice drifted from the kitchen.
“Lix? You want ramen or—”
Felix quickly locked his phone. “Anything’s fine.”
He hated how casual Jungkook sounded. How normal everything was for him.
Because Felix couldn’t stop thinking about her.
Later that night Jungkook wrapped his arms around Felix from behind while they stood at the sink washing dishes.
“You’ve been quiet today,” Jungkook said softly.
Felix shrugged. “Just tired.”
Jungkook rested his chin on Felix’s shoulder. His voice was warm, teasing.
“You sure you’re not secretly mad at me?”
Felix forced a laugh.
If only you knew.
Because all Felix could think about was questions he hated himself for having.
Was she prettier?
Did Jungkook laugh more with her?
Did he look at her the way he looked at Felix when he thought Felix wasn’t paying attention?
Later, alone in bed, Felix did the thing he promised himself he wouldn’t do again.
He searched her name.
Her account popped up instantly.
Felix tapped it.
More photos.
A party picture. A mirror selfie. A picture with friends.
She looked confident. Untouchable. Like the kind of person people wrote songs about.
Felix sighed and buried his face in the pillow.
“Why am I like this…”
He wasn’t even jealous of Jungkook loving her.
He was jealous of the idea that Jungkook once could have loved her that much.
The next day they were walking through a street market when it happened.
Felix noticed Jungkook suddenly stiffen beside him.
Felix followed his gaze.
A girl across the street.
The same girl.
The ex.
Felix’s stomach dropped.
She noticed Jungkook too. Her eyes widened slightly before she gave a small wave.
Jungkook raised a hand politely.
That was it.
Two seconds.
But Felix’s brain exploded with a thousand thoughts.
Was that awkward? Was that emotional? Did he miss her?
Felix stared at the ground as they kept walking.
“Lix,” Jungkook said after a moment.
Felix hummed.
“You’re doing that thing again.”
“What thing?”
“Overthinking.”
Felix stopped walking.
Jungkook turned to face him, confused.
Felix looked away. “Did you… love her a lot?”
The question hung in the air.
Jungkook blinked.
“Yeah,” he said honestly.
Felix’s chest tightened.
“But,” Jungkook continued, stepping closer, “not like I love you.”
Felix scoffed quietly. “You’re supposed to say that.”
Jungkook tilted his head.
“Felix.”
His voice was serious now.
“You think I’m with you because you’re better than her?”
Felix didn’t answer.
Jungkook gently lifted Felix’s chin.
“I’m with you because you’re you.”
Felix’s heart pounded.
“I didn’t fall for you because you were prettier or cooler or whatever comparison you’re making in your head,” Jungkook said softly.
“I fell for you because you’re the guy who laughs too loud at midnight and burns pancakes every Sunday and sends me voice messages at 3 a.m.”
Felix’s cheeks flushed.
“And,” Jungkook added with a small grin, “because you’re the only person who somehow makes my life feel louder and calmer at the same time.”
Felix looked down, embarrassed.
“…I stalked her Instagram,” he admitted.
Jungkook burst out laughing.
Felix groaned. “Don’t laugh!”
“I’m not laughing at you,” Jungkook said, still smiling. “I’m laughing because you think you have competition.”
He squeezed Felix’s hand.
“Lix, my ex is part of my past.”
Then he leaned closer.
“You’re the person I’m obsessed with now.”
Felix’s ears turned bright red.
And for the first time in weeks, Felix stopped thinking about her.
