Work Text:

It was late at night when Wind Archer appeared at Dragon’s Valley. Fire Spirit immediately knew something was wrong the moment his eyes landed on the other guardian. He was pale and shaky, looking exhausted.

“Windy? What are you doing here? And what happened to you?” Fire Spirit immediately flew forward, checking on Wind Archer. The green cookie looked up with an unfocused gaze before his eyes narrowed in on Fire Spirits neck.

Fire Spirit shifted, immediately feeling as if he were in danger. That gaze on his neck didn’t feel arousing anymore. It felt… predatory. Like he was being stalked by a creature that could easily eat him. He backed away, nervous. Just as he was about to bolt from Wind Archer, the cookie suddenly spoke.

“Fire Spirit, I need your help.” The cookies green eyes snapped up to meet deep red ones. Fire Spirit immediately relaxed, sighing in relief. “Okay. You aren’t about to kill me. Good. What is it?” Fire Spirit said, going back to being nonchalant.

“I’m… how do I phrase this?” Wind Archer shuffled, looking down awkwardly. Fire Spirit just blinked before sighing. “Whatever it is, I won’t judge you. Unless it’s something insane. Just say it.” Fire Spirit huffed. Wind Archer took a deep breath, exhaling slowly to ground himself.

“I’m a vampire. And I’m hungry.” Fire Spirit froze, fear creeping back into his body. “Wait, like, a jam sucking vampire?” Fire Spirit said, shifting uncomfortably. “Yes. I usually don’t have to deal with this as I usually have a spell that is keeping my thirst away, but I used up too much magic repairing the forest after a really bad storm. I’m barely had enough energy to fly here.” Wind Archer explained.

He truly did look like he was on the verge of collapsing. Fire Spirit thought he had a bad habit of skipping meals, but Wind Archer seemed to have taken that to the next level. Immediately, something protective surged inside the orange cookie.

The cookie in front of him was hurt. Starving. And he could help. He immediately moved forward, grabbing Wind Archer and dragging him towards his room. The wind guardian immediately started to protest, confused. Fire Spirit shoved the green cookie down to sit on the floor, then quickly sat down right in front of him.

“You’re an idiot, ya know?” Fire Spirit said. Wind Archer looked caught off guard. “I was just going to ask if you could give me some magic so I could reapply the spell.” Wind Archer said shakily, his eyes shifting back to the orange cookies neck who was uncomfortably close now.

“Not happening. I’ll give you magic after you eat.” Wind Archer stopped, looking up. “What? You’re willing to let me suck out your jam? What if I hurt you? Or worse, kill you?” Wind Archer argued, immediately trying to shift away.

Fire Spirit reached out and grabbed the cookie, shoving his face into his neck. “I’ll be fine Wind Archer. Eat.” Fire Spirit insisted, pressing Wind Archer closer to his body in the awkward embrace. Fire Spirit sat with his legs crossed, forcing Wind Archer to have to awkwardly wiggle his ways out so they could rest beside Fire Spirits body.

“I…” Wind Archer was trying to hold back, truly, but it was too much. Being this close to another was something he always avoided thanks to his immediate instinct to suck the life out of them. The smell of smoke and ash filled his nose, encouraging him to let go. What really almost broke the camels back was the feeling of Fire Spirits heartbeat. It pumped steadily, pushing the jam throughout his body.

“I’ll be okay. You need this, Wind Archer.” Fire Spirit insisted, his voice now gentle instead of stubborn. And just like that, Wind Archer gave in. He sunk his fangs into the dough beneath him, immediately sucking up the blood that emerged. He forgot how this felt. The feeling of having fresh jam on his tongue, how warm it was, the sweet taste strawberries and sugar with a hint of spice to it.

Both cookies moaned, each for different reasons. Wind Archer felt relief course through him as he let himself feed for the first time in centuries. Fire Spirit had moaned because of the pain and slight spark of pleasure that it left. He probably shouldn’t be enjoying this, but the idea of his mate claiming him was alluring.

Wait. Not mate. Not claiming. Fire Spirit flushed red, realizing what he had just thought. Curse having dragon-like instincts. Ever since he had connected to the Red Dragon’s Bead, he had been stuck with instincts and thoughts of a dragon. He would make a nest of rocks and cooling lava often, sleeping in the center of it like how a dragon would. He would also have to deal with the idea of having a mate, or lover as others say.

Wind Archer was sadly the one he thought of as his mate, so having said ‘mates’ teeth puncturing his neck was making his instincts go wild. He wanted badly to bite back, but he refrained, allowing the green cookie to eat.

They sat there for a few minutes before Fire Spirit started to feel a bit woozy. He swayed slightly, panting, cold sweat dripping down his face. Wind Archer needs this. Just a bit longer.

The vampire in the meantime had lost himself in the feeling of feeding after thousands of years of starvation. He barely realized when Fire Spirit started weakly tapping him and trying to pull him off. Wind Archer snapped out of his trance when a particularly sharp pinch was given to his arm. He jerked back, pulling his teeth out and observing the wound.

The dough was a deep red from the sucking, and would definitely bruise. There was no excess bleeding luckily, meaning Wind Archer could shift his attention to Fire Spirit who was shaking slightly.

The orange cookie looked tired, wilting slightly. “Fire Spirit? Are you okay? Did I take too much?” Wind Archer immediately asked, a pang of worry stabbing into his gut. “I’m alright Windy, just tired.” Fire Spirit replied, standing. Wind Archer shifted before lifting himself up off the ground as well. The two stood in front of each other, staring.

“Well, I hope you’re okay now. Just know that you can always come to me when you need to eat. You don’t need to starve.” Fire Spirit said softly. Wind Archer let a small smile split his face. “Alright.” He replied simply, giving the fire guardian a nod.

Fire Spirit stretched, attempting to lead Wind Archer out of the room when a sudden wave of vertigo hit him. The room immediately began to spin, black and white dots beginning to pepper his vision. Tinnitus rung out into his ears as his legs turned to jelly. He groaned, collapsing to the ground. He was out like a light, leaving a shocked Wind Archer behind who had promptly panicked.

“Fire Spirit?!” Wind Archer rushed over, landing roughly onto his knees and looking over the guardian of fire. He was pale and shaking again, dark eye bags now worryingly visible. Wind Arched immediately grabbed the unconscious cookie and rushed out of the cave to the forest. He quickly flew down to where he and Millennial Tree Cookie would reside and laid Fire Spirit down on a sunbathed rock.

He immediately grabbed water and made Fire Spirit drink some, making sure he wouldn’t choke. The unconscious cookie didn’t react, leaving Wind Archer alone with his thoughts as he watched over the guardian of fire.

About an hour passed until Fire Spirit stirred, squinting at the bright sunlight that burned his retinas. “Ugh… Dragon’s Valley is not this bright. Where am I?” Fire Spirit turned his head to see Wind Archer smiling softly next to him. “Glad to see you’re awake.” The green cookie said, helping Fire Spirit sit up.

“I guess I passed out. Sorry about that.” Fire Spirit said, looking at Wind Archer. “It’s fine. Just don’t do that again. I thought I killed you.” Wind Archer replied, sincere. “I’ll try.” Fire Spirit smirked, standing up.

“Tell me when you need to feed again. I’ll always be here.” Fire Spirit said before suddenly launching himself into the air in a blaze and darting away back towards Dragon’s Valley. Wind Archer just watched as he left before smiling softly again. That man would be the death of him.
