Summary
“My darling,” Alastor purrs, “confidence is simply the reward of patience.” His hand moves to settle over her waist, and the warmth of it sends hot pulses of desire all over Celeste. “And you’ve tested me quite thoroughly. Of course, you are free to prove me wrong, but if you’re going to keep sitting this close, I might begin to suspect you are doing it on purpose.”
“Maybe I am,” she challenges. “What are you going to do about it?”
His eyes burn into her as he says, “This.”
Without warning, he pushes her down the couch, straddling either side of her hips to trap her in place. He holds her wrists above her head to pin her hands down. Celeste’s heart just about leaps out of her chest as he leans to trace the tip of his nose down the curves of her neck. His hot breath ghosts over her skin, and the desire in her flares all the more.
“Be a good girl for me, won’t you, mon ange?” he whispers under his breath. “You just had to provoke me…”
