We think that the actions of the person who leaked this photos are horrible. Until there's a declaration, please don't speculate about player's sexualities.
Hockey is for everyone. Homophobic comments will get your account blocked by the team.

Ilya, noticing his breath getting fasted, pushed Shane's feet with his.

Shane breathed.
"Yeah, okay. Just... A hockey player got outed."
"Fuck." Ilya searched it in his phone. "I'm seeing it. John Feller? He sucks."
"Yeah, but he doesn't deserve it."

Fuck. Shane hadn't thought about that, but Ilya was probably right.
It would be easier to fire a player that wasn't that good or popular, passing it as non homophobic.
And what would the people say? Shane was sure that the homophobic comments will be full of "gay people play bad hockey", and it would get other queer athletes further in the closet.

What happened to John Feller is horrible. No one should share photos of a private meeting to make an scandal. Two men dating shouldn't be a scandal.
No one should be forced to come out before they're ready, and when they do, no one should have to deal with the hate John Feller is getting.
I'm horrified to discover how many fans, how many of my own fans, are being homophobic towards him and his boyfriend.
Anyone can be good at hockey regardless their sexuality or gender identity.
I stay with John Feller. What is happening to him must be one of his worst nightmares; I know, because is one of mine too. If you think his sexuality affects negatively his hockey skills, then stop following me, because #iamgaytoo

After some more encouraging words from his mom and dad, Shane hung up and returned to his post to see what the people was saying.
