IN CASE OF PERSONA DEGRADATION

Summary:

The human mind is a complex system, something even all our technology now cannot possibly comprehend.

To combat this, CONTACT has taken it upon themselves to construct a process to wipe any memories that would get in the way of productive work, leaving only the most important ones to keep the minds inside their false bodies functioning.

Unfortunately for everyone, however, it is not that simple.

And when you finally face the music, you realize it never is.

Guh...another fic I wrote in a craze of ideas and desperation for new content.

Again, while I have finished all the free episodes please pretty please keep the spoilers to a minimum!

This entire fic concept is heavily inspired by the world building in SIGNALIS regarding the Replikas and their neural patterns.

ALSO!!! While I am doing this for myself, comments are a huge motivatior. If you feel like saying "This is cool" or doing an incredibly in depth analysis for fun, don't be afraid to! As much as people are terrifying and the internet is confusing, I do genuinely love sharing my intrests with people.

Again, not required if you don't want to but just know they prevent me from feeling like I'm just yelling into an endless void.

YOUR TASK FOR THIS REQUEST IS TO [Secure anomalous artifacts in The Hotel]

OBJECTIVE SPECIFICATIONS:[Collect the following]

  • Painting of an island with a red rectangle in the center of the shore □
  • Radio with initials (G + M) carved into the left side □
  • Several pressed bluebell flowers in a small canvas bag □
  • Singular pointe shoe covered in old blood at opening (Origin of blood unknown, make sure it stays that way.)⁠ ⁠□⁠ 

RECOVERED ARTIFACTS CAN BE DROPPED OFF TO SUPERIOR OFFICER(S)

PROTOCOL(S):

  • None of those memories are yours
  • DO NOT perceive or interact with artifacts more than nessecary!
  • DO NOT DEFACE ARTIFACTS! (Drawing on them, Breaking/Damaging them)
  • If (an) artifact(s) is/are damaged unintentionally, let go of it/them IMMEDIATELY and leave the area!
  • Properly seal PPE before heading down into the negative floors! (Those without proper gas masks should not go to these floors at all, no matter what.)
  • DO NOT travel in large groups (4 or more) often!
  • If you are the last one left, terminate yourself and wait to be revived! (Finding a way out is possible, but highly discouraged.)
  • DO NOT spend more than 30 minutes in a room, especially if it is empty!
  • Make sure any and all rooms are empty before entering!
  • Avoid any and all guests and staff at all costs!
  • Be polite, respectful, and above all, quiet. In other words, do not disturb the peace!

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Due to your team's non-human member, take extra care to make sure he does not listen to any music or look at any art for prolonged periods of time. If he suddenly starts acting more friendly/human, or starts speaking (highly unlikely) immediately vacate premises and put in a reconstruction request. The forensics team will handle the rest.
