Chapter Text
The unraveling was not forseen.
Not by Apollo or his Oracle but by the Fates themselves.
The tapestry was crafted perfectly, woven by hands which served their purpose unquestionably.
Occasionally, on rare times, very rare times, a watcher would interfere, shredding parts of it. In rarer occasions, this would lead to a butterfly effect which would require much correction.
One such occasion was presented by Halycon Green, a seer and son of Apollo when he saved the life of a young girl who went on to have a daughter, who had a daughter, who had a daughter, who had a son.
Luke Castellan was not meant to exist. And yet he did.
So the Fated found a way to fix the tapestry and weaved new threads tangled unto each other until they formed a tangible reality to compliment the one ruined.
They provided one singular fated child the ability to understand their decision. The one who's thread was a part of it from the beginning to the end. That child would trace his own thread with brush light fingers and hold it together through it all.
The decision who that child will be was left for later, the four threads left free to be included as the set path progressed and later to be woven alongside just as important ones.
Even Apollo himself would be unable to see which direction this will go, after all, they've left it as unwritten as they could. There was much to be done.
And so the tapestry was made. Their chosen stumbling upon realisations spectacularly slow, held back by his own constitution. No matter, the child will come to his own and when Phoebus is immortal once more, he will see to it that their words are heard and the wisdom is imparted correctly. They will not be failed.
The stubbornness was expected. The utter denial was not.
Unfortunately, they never believed the end could snag, pull and unspoll and in haste, they fumbled trying to set it right, wove and rewove but the end was tattered and burned with defeat. The story was over.
But that wasn't acceptable.
So they reached towards the first and last. The fire and the hearth and allowed her to see.
