Grian, Gem, Impulse, Scar & Cleo play some D&D late at night. When they should really be in bed, they have class tomorrow!

"NINETEEN!" Grian yelled excitedly, punching the air.

"Shush!" Gem said, elbowing him and giggling. It was late, and all five of them knew they really should be in their dorms. But, D&D time couldn't wait! They were so close to defeating the Goblins, and saving the village!

"Fine!" Grian's exasperated whisperings were more one of friendly over-exaggeration than annoyance. "Nineteen!"

Cleo smiled. They checked their notes. Grian sat on the edge of his seat. "You managed to hit the goblin. Roll for damage!"

Grian shook his dice, letting it fall onto the table with a small clatter. "Eight, let's go!"

Once again, Cleo checked his notes, marking something off. "… How do you want to do this?"

The table gasped excitedly. It had been a while since someone had last managed to one-shot a monster. Grian paused for a moment, thinking.

"I'll pick up my sword, and spin it a few times to distract the goblin, before throwing it up in the air, and it lands straight into the goblin's head!"

"That's completely unrealistic!" Impulse shook his head. "You'd need a Nat 20 for that!"

"No, it's how I wanna kill the goblin!" Grian says, slightly loudly.

"But it needs to at least be—"

Cleo stood up, making the two of them stop bickering. "The sword lands straight into the goblin's head, and… It dies. Max Blunder, you managed to kill the goblin." A cheer from the table. "But there are more to come. Reinforcements are on their way. Mister Wizard, it's your turn, and there are 4 more goblins, poised and ready to attack, all in a straight line."

Scar gasped, leaning backwards in his wheelchair (and promptly rolled back a dew centimetres), arms up in the air in his usual Red Panda impression. "Oh no, woe is me, what am I to do?"

Cleo had a smile on their face, and sat back down, folding their arms, waiting for Scar's response. He moved his wheelchair closer to the table, looking at his character sheet, checking each side of it to see what the best plan of action was. A few moments of thinking, as the rest of the group were all on their toes. Until a wide grin spread across his face.

"I'm gonna cast Fireball."

A yell of excitement from Grian, Impulse, and Gem. Well. A yell, followed by shushing and giggling. None of them really wanted a teacher to stop by and discover they were still awake after midnight—well after they were supposed to be asleep. Especially since they had class first thing tomorrow. But, as previously stated, D&D could not wait! Plus, it was only once a week, on a Thursday evening, and really the only night they could do—Gem would always go back to her family on the weekend, making Friday, Saturday, or Sunday out of the question. Besides, half of them had Drama first thing on a Friday morning, anyway, which wasn't that bad of a class to be half asleep for, since the drama teachers would always wake them up with a warm-up.

Cleo grinned excitedly, and held out his hand for Scar to roll. As the dice clattered on a 'Natural 20', the party jumped up in excitement, silently punching the air. Those goblins were well and truly dead!
