The moment Vicious bee stepped into the courthouse, a million eyes glowered at them. Their jaws opened and a million different voices chattered. They all whispered the same thing
“Will their wings be the same as Precise bee’s?”
Vicious bee tried not to tear up or atleast show any form of reaction to such chatter. They kept their firm fierce face of fury
In one of the seats, was Windy bee. Windy bee stared at Vicious bee with that calm and uncanny stare. It gave Vicious bee a shiver down their spine
Vicious bee looked in front. Precise bee stood at the area for the witness. Their head was down as they clenched one claw around their other arm. They looked so strangely hurt for some reason
Vicious bee looked up. The pavilion had four main seatings; one for the red and blue twins, Crimson bee and Cobalt bee, one for Basic bee, the seating behind Basic bee, was for none other Onett themselves
Onett was a legendary dragon. They single handedly created the entire cosmos, every dragon was a work of art by Onett. The world was sculpted to their liking, their liking in mind for dragons, their creations. Onett was the author of the Oath of Wings, the primordial judge for the whole of bee swarm
No one has ever broken the Oath of Wings. No one wished to be the first. But history changes, and Vicious bee was the one to do so
Basic bee, despite their joyful personality, was not pleased, judging by the look on their face and the fact they were in their gifted form. Crimson and Cobalt bee glowered at Vicious bee. Those two were a very special kind of dragon, both of them didn’t have limbs, but their front legs were separated from their main body and floated
Vicious bee wasn’t fearful of the eyes and whispers, they were fearful of the fate of their wings
Everyone knows no dragon can grow their wings back, the only way to not lose one’s aerial travel opportunity was to preserve their wings and protect them. Dragons always aimed for every other part than the wings. Every dragon knew this to heart, unless you don’t have a heart, like Vicious bee
Vicious bee’s habit of stubbornness and disobedience led to them not even caring about the Oath of Wings, yet by some string of luck they were able to successfully evade breaking the Oath of Wings. But their stubbornness and ignorance finally caught up to them that day
Onett suddenly spoke up. “SILENCE.” That tone made everyone snap their heads towards Onett, all stunned and ready for what their creator had to say. Onett’s voice slithered with disappointment and rage
”We are all here today to decide the fate and learn the truth of Vicious bee,” Onett said, their gigantic umbrella wings slowly opened like a flower blooming. Their wings covered nearly all the lights at the back as their tail cascaded down the seating
”In case you guys have been living under a rock, for the past couple of months, Vicious bee has been trying to become the best fighter in the world by a strange way; dueling everyone and anyone.”
Vicious bee winced at that
”However, in their third attempt against Precise bee, they used a devastating and dangerous attack to heavily damage Precise bee. Within that attack, Precise bee’s wings were heavily damaged. Judging by the damage, Vicious bee seemed to have targetted the wings. This is against the Oath of Wings, and Vicious bee can be punished by having their own wings damaged.”
Vicious bee made a more noticeable wince
”However, according to Precise bee, Vicious bee accepts such a fate with honour. Hence, we gather here today to decide the fate of Vicious bee’s wings. I will leave the rest of this in everyone else’s claws.”
Onett then tucked their wings to the side, bending their neck as if they’re listening. “Anyone is allowed to speak up on what we should do to Vicious bee’s wings.”
The room was dead silent. Suddenly, Crimson bee lifted one of the claws of their floating limbs into the air. “Your Honour, we believe that if Vicious bee does accept such a defeat with such a great amount of honour, we believe that we do not need to hurt Vicious bee’s wings at all.”
Some dragons nodded, Cobalt bee smiled and gave their sibling two thumbs-ups
Immediately after, Brave bee said, “However, they did not obey Wing 2, and since Wing 6 clearly states that an eye for an eye punishment is allowed for any disobedience towards the Oath of Wings, that means Vicious bee’s wings should be damaged as well.”
Other dragons started chatting as a response to that
”Brave bee’s right… but Crimson bee’s makes more sense…”
”Poor Vicious bee…”
”I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place…”
”What am I supposed to do!? They want me!?”
”Guys! Ladies! Somethings! Please hear me out!” That was Music bee
Music bee stood up from their seat, hand high in the air. “Guys, Precise bee’s wingspan is way bigger than Vicious bee’s, if we recreate the damage pattern on Vicious bee’s, Vicious bee won’t be able to fly anymore!”
In an instant, everyone boo’ed Music bee, causing Music bee to crouch down in their seat. “Sorry folks! Please don’t throw broken violin parts and tomatoes at me!”
Music bee was right, just not in the correct context
Everyone continued murmuring and chattering. Until Windy bee spoke up
Windy bee raised slightly above their seat, faced their noodle-like to the side, before slamming their claws onto the mini-table installed on the high-seatings. “I have one thing to say.”
Their tone was serious and not very gentle. They meant whatever they were going to say
Windy bee breathed in and repositioned their body to face the front. Their eyes closed as their own claws intertwined with each other
”We all know Vicious bee is a stubborn, ignorant fool.” Their tone grew a little harsh with each word. “I have seen it for myself and let’s just say, it was insufferable.” Vicious bee flinched at that. Windy bee’s eyes darted to take a glance at Vicious bee. “However, I have heard, from Hasty bee and Precise bee, that Vicious bee is accepting defeat with great honour.” Precise bee looked up to Windy bee, as if giving them their approval. “According to Precise bee, Vicious bee is willing to accept any punishment we want. Including, the ‘eye for an eye’ punishment, as stated in Wing 6. I don’t know all the details. Hence, I will give it to Hasty and Precise bee to verify everything I have said. Windy bee out.”
Everyone in the room clapped and applauded. If there was a stage-light it would have shone on Hasty bee in an instant
Hasty bee stood up, appearing as though standing on their hind legs ”I will speak first, as my observations are most recent. Now— ahem.” They took a note from their satchel. “When I came to deliver a letter to Vicious bee, informing them about this trial.” Hasty bee perked their head up to look at everyone. “They listened and didn’t snap at me or expressed any kind of bad-temper, as they usually would. They kept quiet and listened to everything I said.” Hasty bee squinted at something on the paper. “Also— I mean, this clearly shows that Vicious bee accepts defeat with great honour as stated by Brave bee and Crimson bee earlier. In my opinion, I believe Vicious bee shouldn’t go without punishment, but I don’t want them to have their wings damaged. I will now let Precise bee speak.”
Everyone cheered and applauded once again. If the stage light really was a thing, it would’ve shone brighter on Precise bee. Precise bee was taken a bit by shock by everyone’s sudden shift of attention
They coughed twice, before finally speaking up. “I met Vicious bee after their battle with Windy bee. At first I thought they were remain in their stubborn and snappy way as before, but after some demonstrating of my flight, they seemed to have softened, they seemed to have changed. I was in disbelief when I was told my flight would be impacted.” Precise bee emphasised on the ‘I’s. “Just like when Vicious bee realised the damages they caused me. I know Vicious bee broke one of the most important Oath of Wings rule, but I do not wish for Vicious bee to be permanently flightless. My speech has come to an end. Thank you everyone.”
Everyone started cheering and applauding really loudly now before Windy bee interrupted. “Everyone, please. Photon bee has one thing to say. Because they INSISTED on speaking.”
Photon bee didnt have eyes, but if they did they would’ve lit up. “Howdy everyone! Hope all of you are having a great day. I am just here to say that if all of you agree with Hasty bee and Precise bee, then I agree with all of you, meaning that I agree with Windy bee. That’s all folks.”
The room went dead silent
Onett raised their head from its listening form, and went back to its speaking form. Their wings once against rising like a canopy. “All of your arguments and statements are amazing. I have listened to every single one of them and have come up with a verdict. But I do have one thing to do before I share my verdict.” Onett looked down at Vicious bee
”Vicious bee, would you like to speak?”
Vicious bee perked their head up, taken by sheer surprise. They knew this was their chance
”Sure.”
The room stayed dead silent
”Onett, from the time you created me, you intended me to be a weapon, a protecter of this world, to eradicate the ladybugs and beetles that dare hurt us. However, once I was done serving my purpose, I felt like I was thrown away, left to rot. I know you never meant it. But I felt it.” Onett’s eyes widened. “I searched for meaning, and found it; strength. I believed in strange ways of proving my strength, I ignored the Oath of Wings, the very rules you wrote. By sheer luck, I never broke the rules, until now.” Vicious bee looked at Precise bee
”I admit, I targetted Precise bee’s wings. My intention was to disarm Precise bee’s flight like temporarily stun it. But I guess I bit more than I should’ve.” The entire room gasped. “I accept any punishment Precise bee wishes to give me. However, I will let Onett declare their verdict first.”
Onett stood tall, their wings becoming a larger canopy. “I, Onett, creator of everyone and everything, hereby state, that Vicious bee, is guilty, for all their wrong-doings against the Oath of Wings. However, as requested, I will allow Precise bee to decide their punishment.”
Precise bee took a deep breath. “I, Precise bee, hereby state that Vicious bee’s wings shall not match mine. I will let Vicious bee fly free however they want. But since Hasty bee believes that Vicious bee shouldn’t go unpunished, the punishment I being upon Vicious bee, is be forced to babysit Baby bee for a week.”
Baby bee’s eyes appeared as if they lit up
”What an interesting punishment, Precise bee. I shall dismiss everyone from the courthouse, go and frolic in this world.”
Everyone flew out of the courthouse. Except for Vicious bee and Windy bee
Windy bee approached Vicious bee. “Vicious bee, I know you are wondering why I’m talking to you, but I only have one thing to say. You can come back to my domain. To me, you have surpassed my standards insanely well, I forgive you for all the trouble you have caused me.” Windy bee turned around to fly away, but just as they were about to, they snapped their head and said, “Good luck taking care of Baby bee, Music bee will be leaping in joy.”
Vicious bee snapped their head to the side to see Music bee and Baby bee placed on Vicious bee’s wing
”Aaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,” Vicious bee groaned
