Summary
It felt likes years in grace,the constant running,avoiding,PRAYING. It was endless,for him at least.Then he woke up. John was well confused,with only so little memory he had before he went into coma he was alone. Sitting in hospital bed with the heart monitor beeping each time his own heart pulse with life,it was mocking him.
Then Carol step in,had she not stepped in and took him in he wouldve still rotted on the street alone,he was surprised an old friend from school still remembered him and was the one who saved him. Slowly he tries to regain his life by working in a cafe,recovering from not only the coma but from his experiences in Grace (even though it was just a 'dream' it looks like he still get muscle memory,even if Genesis had told him his sins doesn't follow him to the real world,they still hunt him in it own ways.)
John was well a different person ever since the coma (at least in Carol eyes),he was softer and calmer now,wearing a cross necklace too,some people would say he became a Christian but John says so otherwise...Everything was going normal until a certain circus arrived into town,causing John having to break his normal life to search for Carol.
