Chapter Text
It was a normal day in Sherrinford. Not...normal normal. It was a day that people there were used to. Typical day.
Frightening for the people working, new recruits feeling like they've seen things no human should've...but Eurus was boorrreedd!
And oh, how agonizingly boring it was for Eurus Holmes. Plans not being initiated, staying in the same room she had for years on end, ugh.
But today, she was going to try something.
Sleeping.
Now, now. She had slept before. It was nothing new to any human to ever exist, but she despised it. Waste of time! She could recite the benefits, but she still hated that wasted time.
Today, time was eternal for her. Unforgiving, prolonging. So she decided to pass time by falling asleep (and trying to make plans to meet her brothers yet again).
Right when she was about to fall asleep, however, she heard a soft thud against the glass. She got up to sit on her bed and looked around. Saw nothing.
She then was about to turn in again when she heard a cry.
A baby's cry.
Was she imagining this? Was this really a baby? What if someone was fooling her? What did they want—
Too many questions.
She got up from bed, and slowly turned towards the glass. Right under the sign that said 'MAINTAIN THREE FEET', there was a young toddler. Approximately of age 6 months and 17 days (don't ask me why she knows that). Clothes and haircut gave away that it was a girl, sitting on the floor and leaning forward against the glass until her nose pressed against it.
She looked quite...cute. Her wide, amber eyes looking curiously at Eurus. The vapours of her breath fogging the glass...Eurus walked towards the little baby, having to look down at her even after crouching down to floor.
Eurus: "Interesting...how did you get in here? Why did you get in here? Did someone else get you here? It is improbable that the guards couldn't see you, unless they are even worse than before...wait, what—"
Eurus ran towards the place where she used to get her 'treats', seeing that the baby was crawling up to there. The little girl got inside the chute, and got sucked up. She fell right in Eurus' arms.
At first, they just stared at each other. Blankly. Before pain finally registered on the little baby's knee from scratching against the metal of the chute. Tears were brimming in her eyes and she let out little sniffles, scrunching her small face up in pain.
Eurus, fixing the position of the girl in her arms for a more steady hold, looked down to the baby's knee, seeing hints of red right where she anticipated them to be. Putting her on the floor and keeping the girl steady on her feet to stand, she got some antiseptic cream from the table in her room and applied it on the girl's knee.
The baby eventually calmed down, rubbing her the tears on her face with her pudgy little hands. She pointed towards the bed when Eurus kept the cream back. Eurus smiled, lifting the baby from the floor, laying her on the bed and laying down right beside her, pulling down the blanket over the both of them. Eventually, they both fell asleep.
Hooo~ These days are gonna be fun now~
