Work Text:
Everyone knew Amelia as a very loud and confident woman. And deep down, she was. She would always be the cause of chaos at the meetings. Her boisterous personality, in its own way, lit the meetings up. Sakura enjoyed these moments. She liked hearing the other woman’s voice, liked looking at her, and liked how she turned the meetings into something fun. Subconsciously, she’d watch the other, a warm blush on her face. Sakura was strangely good at reading people just by looking at them. So, it didn’t take her too long to realize a pattern with Amelia.
Every year, in the middle of spring- so usually may- Amelia becomes concerningly silent. She’d sit in the back of meeting rooms and keep to herself; a total 180 of her normal self. At first, Sakura thought it could just be a period or hormone thing. Until, she watched as the other woman quickly left in the middle of the meeting. Amelia’s mother, Rose, would follow soon after. Sakura watched as her mother left in the corner of her eye. She was in the middle of a playful debate between some of the other nations so she couldn’t find a way to leave to follow them.
To her left sat Felicia, who was talking to Monika- Felicia’s girlfriend- who sat next to her right. She sat sandwiched between the girlfriends and would occasionally be brought into the conversation. Right now, it was about gas prices. Anya, who sat at the far end of the table by Sakura’s right, moved over swiftly to join in. Since she moved, her brother- Nikolai- moved over as well. Sakura rolled her eyes subtly as the two came. She tried to be polite to the other nations but many would get on her nerves.
“Either of you see Amerika?” Anya asked, tilting her head to the side.
Felicia and Monika looked at each other before both shook their heads, “I saw her enter.”
Anya’s smile didn’t falter but a weird look fell into her eyes. Sakura saw a shift in her mood, like she got sad upon seeing that Amelia left. Honestly, Sakura got a bit jealous at the idea of Anya caring just a little bit for the other. Still, she kept quiet.
“She’ll be back soon.” Marianne, Amelia’s other mother, commented.
Marianne sat directly across from Sakura. Like with Anya, a downtrodden feeling came from her. She gave Anya a nod, as if they both knew something the other nations didn’t. The topic of Amelia dropped and Felicia and Monika went back to talking about inconsequential topics. Sakura began talking to Anya, about nothing really, quickly picking up on the negative energy coming from Nikolai. She knew he cared for his sister way too much; almost as if he liked her. The very idea caused Sakura to feel nauseous. Luckily for her, the meeting ended soon enough.
Sakura lingered in the meeting room as the other nations left. Her sister, Chun-Yun, approached.
“You can go home now.” Chun-Yun basically shoo’d her.
Sakura sighed, “I need to ask someone… something.”
Chun-Yun gave her a confused look but it quickly fell as Anya approached. Sakura watched as Anya dragged the other woman away. Less than five minutes later, it was just her and Marianne. She saw as she looked at her phone, biting her lip in anticipation. Quietly she approached and tapped her shoulder.
“Merde!” Marianne squeaked, surprised.
Sakura apologized with a small giggle in her tone. Marianne just smiled and shook her head.
“Do you need anything, mon amour?” Marianne asked, facing her.
“It’s about Amelia.” Sakura replied, sitting down.
Marianne’s smile faltered as her gaze shifted to the floor.
“You’ve noticed?”
Sakura nodded, “I just want to make sure she’s doing well.”
The other woman looked around before getting closer to whisper.
“I can’t say much for her privacy, however, she gets like this every year. She’ll get better.”
Sakura nodded. Before she could say anything more, Rose entered the room, coughing to get their attention.
“You ready to go?” Rose asked Marianne, who stood up.
“Yeah,” She looked back at Sakura, “We were just talking.”
Rose nodded, waving to her as a greeting. When she turned around, Marianne bent to whisper to Sakura.
“If you want to know more, ask Amelia.”
Then, both women left. Sakura waited for them to leave before she got up. She grabbed her bag, but as she bent to pick it up, she accidentally cut her face with her nail. She let out a small hiss of pain, realizing that it bled. Quickly but without rushing, Sakura made her way to the bathroom. As she opened the door, she saw that one of the doors was closed. She ignored it as she just assumed one of the nations needed to use it. Quietly, she grabbed a bandaid from her bag, before looking at her reflection.
A small yet noticeable cut rested below her eye, with a faint red coloring by it. Sakura wasn’t bleeding but she knew it was blood. Gracefully, she placed the bandaid over it. She smoothed it down before washing her hands. After turning the knobs off, she heard a faint sound from the closed stall. She paused, looking behind her, at the stall. It sounded like crying. An uneasy feeling fell into her stomach. Despite her better judgement, she knocked against the door. A small gasp came from the other side.
“Are you alright?” Sakura asked quietly.
“Y-yeah.” Amelia’s voice sounded from the other side.
The uneasy feeling in Sakura’s stomach quickly turned into concern for her friend and her crush.
“I’ll be out in a second.” Amelia added.
Sakura gave space as the door eventually opened. Amelia’s head was down slightly as she tried to hide her face from the other. It did not at all help to hide the red that covered her cheeks, the dried tears, and her puffy eyes. Without thinking, Sakura grabbed onto her hands, squeezing them in her own way to comfort her. The small action only caused Amelia to begin to cry again. She fell into the other’s arms as she let out painful sobs. She hated showing other people negative emotions but she just couldn’t help it. Sakura wasted no time in wrapping her arms around the other.
Despite being good at reading other people's emotions, Sakura struggled to actually help them deal with their emotions. One of her hands moved up into Amelia’s hair, faintly playing with it. A few minutes passed before her sobs became quiet sniffles. She pulled away, her gaze still on the ground to not meet Sakura’s.
“I’m sorry… for this…” Amelia whispered.
Sakura smiled faintly. Boldly, she grabbed onto the other’s cheek, moving her head up to look her in the eyes.
“It's fine.”
Amelia smiled, her face turning a faint pink, before looking away.
“I got mascara on your shirt, I think.” She giggled, wiping some of the black ink off her cheeks.
Sakura grabbed some paper towels and handed them to Amelia.
“I can clean it later.”
Once Amelia cleaned up, both women left the restroom. Once leaving the bathroom, she quickly went home, not allowing Sakura time to ask what happened. A whole month passed until they had their next meeting. As the days would just get even more warmer, the nations dressed less formally. Still, some tried to be modest. It even seemed as if some were in a competition to see how close they could get to wearing club attire. Sakura was not one of those nations. She wore a light purple, sleeveless blouse, and a matching colored skirt that ended right above her knees.
Upon arriving at the meeting, an entirely new room as the old one was being cleaned for bugs, Sakura noticed that she was the first to arrive; like usual. The room they had them in was on the top of the building most meetings were at. It was quite spacious with the walls being windows stretching from the ceiling to the floor. A long and skinny oval table was in the middle of the room, seemingly made of porcelain. In the center of the table was a hole. At either end was a seat, with others along the sides. Sakura sat down at one of the seats near the front of the table.
Sakura sat down one of her notebooks, a private one, on the table when many of the nations pooled in. She made sure the cover was closed as the seats by her filled in. Sylwia, wearing a baby pink dress that ended just above her knees with short sleeves, sat down to her right. She gave her a small wave before falling into conversation with Tatjana- wearing a white dress shirt and tan pants, with her hair up- who sat next to her. Sakura watched them silently as she waited for Felicia and Monika to arrive. Seeing all the couples around her made her somewhat jealous. But she’d never express it.
Across from Sakura sat Sigrid and Mathilde, the former in a navy blue dress with long sleeves, and the ladder in a black suit with the buttons off the white undershirt undone. Sakura couldn’t help but stare at her chest for a few seconds before her gaze fell onto her own. She was also somewhat jealous at the other nations’... proportions. Another few minutes passed before Monika and Felicia arrived. Monika was in a tan suit while Felicia wore a white dress. Her hair was down, seemingly to cover the fact the dress had no back to it. Rather quickly, Sakura realized that she was surrounded by couples.
“Guten morgen,” Monika said calmly as she greeted Sakura, “Were you the first one here?”
Sakura nodded, “Like usual.”
Felicia giggled as she sat to Sakura’s right.
“You should try to be less formal, Sakura. Maybe then ya’know would approach.” She smirked.
Sakura blushed and looked away, waving her off.
“We talk enough. Plus…” Her voice went quiet as she whispered.
“I don’t think she likes women.”
Felicia clicked her tongue, grabbing onto Sakura’s shoulders, forcing her to look at her. Her face went strict but not in a rude way.
“You don’t know that! Being negative about this won’t make it any better. You need to talk to her.” She ordered, waving her finger.
Monika just sighed at her girlfriend’s antics.
“Don’t put yourself into others’ business.” She spoke softly, moving her to face the table once more.
Suddenly the doors busted open. All eyes and heads shot towards the sound, with those far away from the door even standing up. Amelia stood proud in the doorframe. Sakura felt her face ignite when she saw what she was wearing. She wore a black shirt that only covered her breasts, tying in the middle. On top she wore her bomber jacket that she always wore and she wore a black skirt. Amelia’s chest rose and fell as if she was out of breath, which explained the sweat that coated her forehead. She had a star barrette on either side of her hair that seemed unbrushed. Amelia easily noticed the stares, rushing to take a seat.
The only seat open was the seat at the front of the table where Monika was standing. As Amelia got close, she moved out of the way to allow the woman to sit down. She gave her an annoyed look before moving away. Sakura locked eyes with Amelia, asking her with her eyes if she was okay. She just nodded. Monika coughed, getting the attention of the room back on her. The room went dark as the glass windows turned all black. A projector screen then fell from the ceiling, along with the projector itself falling from the ceiling on the opposite side.
“Danke for coming here, despite the heat. Because of said heat, I will try to keep this meeting short.” Monika spoke loudly, a small microphone next to her mouth.
Monika had a small remote in her hand, pressing a button. The projector showed a screen with data regarding gas and oil. Sakura wasn’t paying attention to it. Instead, she was looking at Amelia. She knew something was happening, and despite not wanting to step over her comfort zone, she wanted to see what was going on. Her focus then turned to her journal, the private one. She bit her lip as she remembered what she wrote in it. A small, stifled laugh came from her right, causing her to flinch. She looked over at Sylwia, who had a smile on her lips.
“Nice writing.” Sylwia whispered.
She had read some of the contents in the journal. Sakura looked down bashfully before, comedically, dragging the journal off the table slowly. But it was too late. Someone, besides Monika and Felicia, knew what she wrote; smut. Smut of the other nations. The page that was open was of Sakura and Amelia. For the rest of the meeting, which was only about half-an-hour long, Sakura looked down at the table, unable to meet the gaze of Sylwia. Soon enough, Monika closed out the meeting.
The meeting room got quite loud once it ended. Some basically ran outside to go home while some lingered behind. Sakura was one of them. In order to not get questioned by Sylwia, she forced her way into Monika and Felicia’s conversation. She really wasn’t paying attention. They were talking about something they were doing that night but her attention was on Amelia who sat silently. Besides her interruption at the start of the meeting, she kept quiet for the rest of it. Her gaze was harshly locked on the table; a depressed look on her face.
Silently, Sakura sneaked over to stand next to her, bending down slightly.
“Hey, Amerika-san, are you…” She whispered but was cut off.
“I’m fine!” Amelia suddenly yelled, her face morphing into anger.
Sakura, taken aback, shot up, and walked a step back. Monika and Felicia went quiet as they looked over to the two. Amelia stood up, grabbing her bag harshly, and marched out of the meeting room. Sakura held her hand to her chest out of fear as her heart was racing due to the shock. She felt immediate guilt at upsetting her crush. Before she could dwell on it, Felicia jogged up to her, grabbing onto her hands.
“Sakura, what happened?” Felicia asked, hands on the other woman’s arms as they locked eyes.
“I…” Sakura looked down. “I don’t know.”
Monika shook her head as she put her hand on her girlfriend’s shoulder, “She was probably just stressed.”
She then looked over at Sakura.
“It wasn’t your fault, so don’t worry about it.”
Sakura only nodded as she went back to her stuff. She collected them quietly. Some of the nations that hung behind watched her. Chun-Yun was about to approach but was pulled back by Anya. Sakura left the room without saying anything, her gaze on the floor as she sped-walked out. But she didn’t go to her car. Instead, she went to the bathroom. Looking at her reflection, she splashed her face with cold water. A small scar rested where she cut herself by accident but it had healed long ago by now. She let out a heavy sigh as she repeated Amelia’s outburst in her mind.
Leaving the bathroom, Sakura walked directly to the elevators. Unfortunately, all but one of them were broken, and the only working one just closed not too long ago. She relaxed her shoulders as she waited patiently. Suddenly, she heard someone call her name. Turning around, she saw Marianne and Rose approaching; both looking concerned.
“We weren’t in the room when Amelia had her outburst. Can you tell us what happened?” Rose asked.
Sakura looked down as she shook her head.
“I saw that she looked upset so I wanted to ask why,” She then looked back up. “Then she yelled at me.”
Rose and Marianne gave the other a concerned yet knowing look.
“I think I know why. Just… don’t think it was your fault. Okay?” Marianne spoke calmly.
Sakura nodded, “I know.”
Luckily, the elevator finally arrived. The three women, silently, got on. The ride down was also quiet. Once they got to the bottom floor, Sakura told them goodbye, and made her way to her car; parked at the opposite end of where Rose and Marianne were. The sun beat down against her skin, her hair especially warming up due to it being black. Sweat immediately coated her forehead. She wiped it off as she entered her car, making sure to turn on the AC right as she got in. The entire drive back, she only thought about Amelia.
Before Sakura was to turn off the highway to get home, she sped her car up, driving past. She didn’t even realize that she was driving to Amelia’s house until the road looked different. Previously, she’s been to her house, but it was still a little unfamiliar to her. Sakura eventually pulled into a long dirt driveway. It led to a decent sized mansion where Amelia lived. She bit her lip as she knew there was no turning back. Once she parked, she left her car, basically rushing to the gate. She sucked in a breath as she pressed the buzzer. A few, extremely long, seconds passed before they opened.
“Welcome, civilian!” A masculine, robotic voice greeted from the buzzer.
Sakura quickly got back into her car and drove in. About a minute after she entered, the gates closed behind her. Tall pine trees lined the side of the dirt road, shrouding the ground below it in darkness. It was pretty strange knowing that it was barely the afternoon. Still, she didn’t pay attention. After parking for a second time, Sakura felt a nice breeze as she stepped out of her car. She lingered by the mansion’s doors, scared to knock. A good few minutes passed before the doors ominously opened. Sakura flinched, not expecting it.
The mansion, like Amelia, was quite bold. The walls were sleek, with windows decorating them, seemingly twenty times the size of an average person. Gold decorations filled in the empty spots. Despite how pretty the mansion was, an emptiness clung to every corner. The place was nice but lonely. Sakura stood on a patterned white rug, stunned in awe. Right in the middle of the room was a staircase going up. At the topic, Amelia stood, wearing just a black lingerie set.
“Sakura?” Amelia asked, a sadness and tiredness in her voice.
Sakura’s face was pink as she stuttered out, “Y-yeah. I just… wanted to check and see if you were okay?”
Amelia’s face fell as she sighed sadly.
“I’m doing better.”
She began to walk down the steps, hand dragging on the railing.
“I’m sorry for my outburst earlier,” She then said as she made her way to the bottom of the stairs. “It wasn’t directed at you.”
Sakura nodded, opening her arms out. Amelia smiled softly as she fell into her embrace. The hug was quick but intimate. Sakura felt the other’s chest pressing against her flat one, blushing at the contact. When they pulled away, she noticed red stains on Amelia’s cheeks.
“Thank you for checking up on me,” Amelia smiled as she held the other’s hands. “You didn’t need to come all the way here.”
Sakura just chuckled and shook her head, “It’s no problem. You’re my friend. I’ll do the same for Monika and Sakura.”
It hurt her to call her a friend but she had to go slow.
Amelia chuckled, “Only a friend? We’ve known each other for how long now? Can’t we be best friends?”
Sakura, for a split second, hoped that Amelia would ask to be something more. But she’d hide her disappointment rather than reveal she loved her friend. Despite the short notice, she decided to stay the night. She mainly wanted to stay to be there for Amelia but she wasn’t going to say it outright. Sakura was basically dragged around the manor as she’s yet to see the full building. She was taken to a movie theater, mini-arcade, and countless other insanely massive yet excessive rooms. Sakura was pretty sure half of them were rarely, if ever, used. During the tour, she watched Amelia’s tone and movements.
She seemed as if she was hiding something.
“We’re about the same size so you can just wear some of my stuff.” Amelia commented as she entered her closet.
Hours had passed since Sakura arrived and the sun had long sat. She waited by the closets’ doors, not wanting to breach her privacy. Though, she did peek inside. Her mouth fell open agape upon seeing just how big it was. It really matched her personality. Soon enough, she returned with a plain white shirt, and black shorts. She handed them to Sakura with a faint smile. Gracefully, she took them, bowed, and disappeared into the bathroom that was attached to Amelia’s bedroom. Once again, it was quite decadent.
Sakura looked at herself in the mirror, blushing at knowing she was wearing her crushes clothes. The shirt was tight around her chest but the shorts were decently long; to her mid-thigh. She splashed water onto her face to calm down the redness, leaving soon after. Amelia laid on her side on the bed, the lingerie top falling off her shoulder, seductively. She gave a lazy smile to the other before turning onto her back. Sakura stood awkwardly, unsure what to do. It seemed like Amelia wanted her to lay with her but it made her very embarrassed to do so.
“Why’re you just standin’ there?” Amelia asked with a chuckle.
She waved Sakura over with a finger. Sakura nodded rapidly and crawled onto the bed, no questions asked. Amelia pulled a pillow from what must’ve been the actual void, a white mochi-like creature. She took it from her, laying on one of the far sides. Sakura didn’t want to be too close out of pure embarrassment. But it did not matter. Amelia shimmied over, sitting up. She took the pillow from her, laying it on her lap. Both women locked eyes as she patted it gently. Sakura tried her best to compose herself, although the blush on her face was way too evident.
“You look tired. Lay down.”
Sakura obliged, pulling one of the blankets over her entire body. Amelia clapped and all the lights turned off. A nice ten minutes of silence passed. Before drifting to sleep, Sakura felt a hand place itself in her hair. Amelia played with the other’s hair as her eyes opened and closed. She was happy that Sakura came to visit. It gave her a distraction from the agony deep in her heart. As she began to drift into sleep, her gaze fell out one of the windows. Despite the darkness, she still saw the grave atop a hill, with a cherry blossom tree behind it. Her soft smile faltered. Then, she fell asleep.
The first thing Sakura realized when she woke up was that she was alone. She sat up groggily, rubbing her eyes gently as she looked around. Warm light poured into the room from the windows. The entire mansion was eerily silent. She slowly got out of the bed, grabbing a light pink robe, and slipping it over her shoulders. Sakura went to one of the windows and peered out. It pointed to a hill with a cherry blossom tree looking over it. She smiled softly, feeling nostalgic at just the mere sight of the tree. It was somewhat hard for her to decipher anything else due to her tiredness.
Sakura walked down slowly, looking around for the kitchen. Luckily for it, the kitchen was- like everything else in the mansion- massive. There were probably ten different refrigerators. Somehow, she was able to get a bowl, cereal, and some milk from the cabinets and fridge. As she ate she wondered where Amelia was at. She suspected she went out to get food but she would’ve texted her to see if she wanted anything as well. Then, she thought back to the hill. It was a little strange that Amelia didn’t bring it up.
Humming quietly, Sakura cleaned the bowl, before returning to Amelia’s room. She went to her closet to find something to put on to get out of ‘her’ pajamas. Unlike the previous day, it was not too hot, about spring weather. Sakura grabbed a white button up and grabbed the skirt she wore the day previously. While brushing her hair, she couldn’t help but look back out to the hill. It was as if something was urging her to go to it. And she listened. She walked briskly outside, struggling a moment to find the backdoor, as, for some reason, it was behind the staircase in the entrance.
A soft breeze clung in the air as Sakura made her way to the hill. It wasn’t at all tall so it was not much of an issue. Pink petals covered the soft grass. She opted to walk barefoot, wanting to feel the grass. Looking around, she eventually found who she was looking for. Sakura saw Amelia sitting on her knees; her blonde hair on her back. A sad smile fell on her lips as she easily could tell she was not feeling great. Quietly, she made it to her, pausing as she looked down. A tombstone rested against the thick trunk of the tree. Sakura had to squint a bit to read the text.
‘Davie’ was all that was written.
Suddenly, Amelia flinched, and looked up at Sakura. Sakura quickly noticed the fresh tears that were on her reddened cheeks. Amelia looked away, sniffling. Sakura got onto her knees behind her.
“I’m not crying… it’s just pollen.” Amelia struggled to choke out.
Sakura didn’t say anything. Instead, she wrapped her arms around the other’s waist, pulling her back. She put her head into her neck. That’s when Amelia began to cry even more. She twisted back slightly, holding an arm around Sakura’s waist. She felt her heart break seeing how sad she looked. The wind picked up, blowing both their short hair. Amelia blabbered some words but Sakura was unable to decipher them. She just shushed her quietly like one would a baby. Soon enough, she calmed down just a bit. Now, Sakura was able to make out some of what she was saying.
“Everything hurts.” Amelia eventually croaked out.
Sakura pulled back, holding Amelia’s face in her hands. She rubbed her thumb against one of her cheeks to brush away the tears. Amelia looked at her between her wet eyelashes. She closed her eyes, looking down, feeling absolutely humiliated.
“I hate having you see me like this.” She then said, voice barely above a whisper.
“Don’t. I want to know if you need help.” Sakura spoke softly.
Without even thinking, Sakura pressed a kiss onto Amelia’s forehead. When she realized what she had done, her cheeks lit up faintly. A small laugh came from Amelia through her worn voice. Then she broke into full laughter. Sakura chuckled, happy that she seemed better already.
“You really know how to pick up a girl, huh?” Amelia teased, wiping some of her tears with her hand.
Sakura just looked away in embarrassment.
Amelia’s smile softened as she looked down, “Is this your way of confessing?”
Sakura jumped, letting out a small squeak. It only caused Amelia to laugh louder. She looked away, heart pounding, scared of how she’d respond. Besides the laughter obviously. She muttered a small cuss under her breath. If anything, at least it made her feel better than before. Amelia, gently held onto Sakura’s face. She moved her to look at her. Sakura swallowed in anxiety as she expected rejection. Instead, she felt a pair of soft lips press onto her own. She froze up for a moment before kissing back. The kiss was short and sweet, but was filled with emotion.
Amelia pulled away, her eyes locked onto Sakura’s lips.
“Fuck, you don’t know how long I waited for this.” Amelia giggled.
“M-me too.” Sakura replied with a small smile.
Despite it just being the two of them, Sakura felt a hand place itself on her shoulder. She quickly looked behind her but saw no one. Amelia held onto her hands, putting them up to her heart. Sakura felt just how fast her heart was beating. Amelia then looked back to the grave. A single blue flower rested by it. She smiled at the grave solemnly. Sakura followed her gaze. She wondered who Davie was. Amelia knew what she was thinking.
“Davie was an old friend of mine,” She spoke up. “A human.”
Sakura nodded, folding her hands gracefully on her legs as she still sat on her knees.
“We met when we were both kids. He was polite, and I’m gonna be honest, despite not liking guys, I thought he was cute.” She continued.
“Anyways. One day, he told me of a flower he saw once. In a book. He told me that he wanted to see it. We explored a nearby flowerfield but it wasn’t there. I went to my mom about it and she said she’s seen it before, just not here.”
Amelia gestured to herself and the area around her.
“But I still wanted to find it for him. Unfortunately, as you know, we nations age differently. He grew up while I stayed relatively the same age. I kept desperately trying to find that flower for him. I found a few leads and when I went to talk to him, he was an adult. He looked… so different yet was still the same. By then, I think he even had a girlfriend.”
Amelia’s face fell ever-so-slightly.
“No matter how hard I tried, that damn flower constantly escaped me. Soon enough, Davie was old enough, and had a family. He even had a daughter who was my age. One day, now mind you, decades had passed at this point, and my mom finally found the flower. But…”
She blinked the tears away, letting out a sigh to prevent herself from breaking down.
“When I found him again, he looked different… he looked young again.”
Sakura tilted her head in confusion.
“It was his grandson. Davie passed already. I didn’t know much then, I was barely even eight I think. God I was so naive.”
“Each time, in spring, I get memories of seeing his body. His body was presented on a grave of flowery moss. I remember putting the flower he so desperately wanted to find on his body. When I sleep, I dream of it. The scene is replayed in the exact same way it did all those years ago. When you found me in the bathroom… it was the anniversary of his death.”
“And when I snapped at you, again, I’m so sorry about that, it was because I got the worst fucking sleep of my life.”
Sakura shook her head, holding onto one of Amelia’s cheeks with her hand. Amelia tilted into it, putting her hand over hers. She closed her eyes to try not to cry. Once again, the wind picked up, causing some of the petals to fall once more. Some fell around both women as they kissed once again. This time, Amelia cried. It was a mix of sadness and her love for Sakura. Sakura felt the salty tears from her eyes on her lips as she kissed her. She, too, felt some tears leave her eyes. And although they were the only ones present, it was clear a third presence was there; happy seeing his friend happy.
