Summary
A particularly grueling council meeting bores him enough that he allows himself a little treat, attention slipping through the flow of time to the starting point. Despite being there for every step and after centuries of working together, the difference is never starker than when he gets to compare his king to his past self, bright eyed and naive and so, so sweet. It feels like getting back to the first draft after admiring the finished masterpiece for so long.
