Work Text:

If she is the ocean (let me drown)

If she is the ocean

That's the one ocean I'll allow myself to drown

If she is the fire

That's the fire I'll let myself burn

If she is the earth,

That's the earth I'll let myself live in,

Or the one I'll be buried in.

She is everything but also nothing

Light, but also darkness.

She is captivating, but also utterly dangerous,

The one kind of danger you'll risk everything for.

She makes me think twice,

and maybe sometimes, not even once.

She is my heaven

my sky,

my hell,

and even my earth.

She will always be my world,

and who knows if it will ever change.

I worship her, and...

I'll continue to do so, even if putting her in a pedestal,

brings me further away from her.

The mere thought of forgetting her

Haunts me more than knowing I won't have her.

But in the end, I'm not the one to decide.

Written by a yearning lesbian who never actually had a relationship...
