The arts department was supposedly a peaceful place - a haven, if you will. The students are, more often than not, too sleep-deprived to care or too absorbed in their own work to worry about yours. And that was fine. You liked that. You liked having a quiet space to work on what you'd loved since you were four.
But you also discovered that you loved more than just lines and pencil shavings and paint. You discovered this phenomenon called 'Satoru Gojo,' and it only took two weeks of existing on the same campus as him for you to be utterly engrossed by his existence.
