Tenma was tired of Math. Why did it even exist?? Why was he gonna use it??
A session a day was bearable but a quiz?! It was hard for Tenma.
"Kidou-san! I'm sorry I'm late, I got held back by Fudou-sensei!" Tenma ran towards the field, breathing heavily.
"It's alright, Matsukaze. I presume you already know the drill, you don't need a re-run of the exercises?" Kidou nodded towards Tenma.
"Yes, Coach!" Tenma nodded eagerly, joining his teammates in practice.
"Another earful from sensei?" Kirino raises an eyebrow and Tenma sighed, nodding.
"These tests are bringing my grades down." Tenma frowned, his energy drooping.
"You had some in the first place?" Kariya, who seemed to be eavesdropping, laughed.
"It's Math, Kariya!" Tenma whined, "Nobody has that much of an excellent grade." He added before Shindou cleared his throat. "Except Shindou-san."
"If you need tutoring you could just ask, Tenma." Shindou offered a small smile.
Before Tenma could answer, Kidou cleared his throat. "Less talking, more practice."
"Sorry, Kidou-san." Tenma let out a nervous laugh.
"It's fine. Are you struggling with Math, Matsukaze?" Kidou tilted his head.
"A bit." Tenma scratched the back of his head and he swore a small chuckle escaped Kidou-san before he covered it up with a light cough.
"You could just ask Fudou-Sensei for after-class tutoring. I'm sure he won't mind." Kidou pats the teen's shoulder.
"That's the thing, eh..." Tenma gulped. "Fudou-sensei scares me a bit."
Kidou held back a laugh, wheeze... whatever you call it. Tenma was sure he was hallucinating by now, Coach Kidou laughing... about another teacher... Yeah, right.
"Do you want me to ask him for you?" Kidou-san tilted his head.
"Are you sure he'll be fine with it?" Tenma didn't want to add more work load on Fudou-Sensei.
"Of course. He does owe me after all." Kidou nodded, and Tenma's jaw dropped.
"You and Fudou-sensei are close?!" He asked by accident, it was just a thought he didn't mean for it to be said out loud.
"Go back to your team, Matsukaze." Kidou shook his head, letting out a small smile that Tenma caught a glimpse of.
Tenma turned back to his friends, absolute confusion taking over him. Fudou-sensei and Kidou-san? That was new. He never saw them together specifically, when did those two ever talk???
"Do you think Kidou-san and Fudou-sensei are close?" Tenma tilted his head.
"Where did that come from?" Shindou asked, pausing.
"Well, Coach just said Sensei owes him-- That means they're close enough to owe each other something, right????" Tenma scratched his head.
"Not necessarily... even if they were close, how would it be our business?" Tsurugi answered. Great, more people are getting involved now.
"What if they're together?" Nishizono entered the conversation with a gasp.
"Don't insult Fudou-sensei like that, he has taste." Kariya commented.
"What's wrong with Coach?! Huh?!" Kirino turned to defend Kidou.
"Nothing, but Sensei wouldn't date a guy who wears goggles daily!" Kariya rolled his eyes.
"Okay, hold on, hold on. Did any of them even mention they were dating someone?!" Tenma changed the topic.
"I don't think so. They've never talked about their personal life much." Shindou seemed to be invested in this topic too, Tenma wonders why.
"So... if we got those two together..." Tenma started his train of thought, getting lost in it.
"What would bringing them together gain us?" Tsurugi crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow.
"Mercy, you idiot!" Tenma scoffed, "Love can change a person! What if they started taking it easy on us?! Less practice, less tests..." He shrugged, and the group paused.
"Tenma, you genius!" Nishizono cheered, jumping up and down.
"Okay, so plan 'KidouFudou', are you in?" Tenma smiled. Nishizono nodded and Kariya rolled his eyes, mumbling something about Fudou's taste. Shindou nodded, making Kirino eventually agree. Meanwhile, Tsurugi was still thinking of the pros and cons.
"Come on, it'll be fun! No harm!" Tenma whined to Tsurugi before the latter sighed and agreed.
Plan: KidouFudou, signed by Matsukaze Tenma, Shindou Takuto, Tsurugi Ryosuke, Kariya Masaki, Kirino Ranmaru and Nishizono Shinsuke, starts now.
Day 1 of Plan KDFD.
"Tsurugi... Kariya. What are you doing here?" Fudou narrowed his eyes as the two teens approached his office.
"Er, em... Coach Kidou wanted to give you this." Tsurugi handed Fudou a box of chocolates.
"Kidou-kun...?" Fudou tilted his head, watching the box of chocolates closely. "Why did he send you two?" He set the box aside, crossing his arms.
"He was busy." Kariya cleared his throat.
"Well, then. Thank you, you may take your leave." Fudou nodded at the two, diving back into correcting tests.
Meanwhile with Kidou and Tenma...
"Kidou-san! Please take this gift from Fudou-sensei!" Tenma handed him new goggles before bowing out of respect.
"New goggles? From Fudou?" Kidou's sarcastic tone spoke volumes.
"Well, he didn't want to owe you anymore so...." Tenma coughed.
"Really?" A smirk made its way on Kidou's face. "Thank you, Matsukaze."
"Of course, Kidou-san!" Tenma nodded eagerly before turning to leave.
The rest of the group sat down at lunch, giving each other reports about the events between Kidou and Fudou today,
"Did Sensei like the chocolate?" Kirino asked Tsurugi before the latter sighed.
"I'm not so sure. He sounded weirded out more anything." Tsurugi shook his head.
"If anything goes wrong we can just blame Kariya." Kirino snorted and Kariya rolled his eyes.
"I thought Fudou-Sensei liked chocolates! He's weirded out by Kidou Goggles Yuuto giving him it, I bet!" He said, in his defense.
"Well, what about Kidou-san?" Shindou interrupted the argument, changing the topic.
"Eh... he liked it, I think. He was surprised at first, for sure!" Tenma laughed nervously.
"And did anything happen between them, today?" Nishizono jumped in the conversation.
"I didn't see anything from my side." Tsurugi shook his head, and the rest agreed... except Shindou.
"I saw something, but I'm not sure what it was." Shindou spoke, breaking the silence.
"What? What did you see?!" Nishizono said.
"They were eating lunch together, I was just passing by. I think they definitely noticed our weird behavior." Shindou sighed,
"If they found out then we are f-- sorry, screwed." Kariya almost facepalmed.
"I don't think it would be that bad if they do find out." Kirino shrugged.
"Speak for yourself, my impression on sensei would be ruined!" Kariya whined.
Day 7 of Plan KDFD.
"Are we sure we should even continue this?" Tsurugi groaned, "It's been a week! Nothing has changed!"
"So? Progress takes time! I'm not giving up on my plan!" Tenma shook his head, this was the first time he had been so stubborn about something other than football."
"Maybe, it's best we leave them alone now." Kirino scratched the back of his head nervously, and Shindou nodded.
"We can't give up on the first try! Come on! We have a whole month till we actually see some progress!" Nishizono backed up Tenma while Kariya seemed unbothered. Why was the usual annoyance of the group quiet now?
"Why are you quiet?" Kirino turned to Kariya.
"I heard something." Kariya whispered, as if it was a big secret.
"Well? Tell us!" Nishizono urged the Blue haired boy to speak.
"I heard Coach Endou and Kidou speaking a few minutes ago, they were talking about student gossip involving Kidou-san." Kariya explained before pausing, making the group pause as well.
"And?! AND?!" Tenma almost yelled before Tsurugi nudged him.
"They said something about Gouenji-san... I don't know it was confusing! But the thing is we should definitely stop." Kariya frowned, shaking his head.
"Go on and give us nothing, Kariya." Tsurugi glared at Kariya, as if he was scolding him.
"Hey! You asked about what I heard and I told you!" Kariya stuck his tongue out.
"Let's discuss it later, for now the plan is on pause. When we all come to the agreement to stop it, we'll stop." Shindou stood up, Kirino following close behind. Kariya nodded, as if supporting what Shindou said.
This whole thing didn't turn out as expected. Tenma thought with a frown, why was his plan failing?!
"-ma. Tenma!" A hand shook Tenma awake and he jolted up. "Yes?!?"
"You were asleep during half of the class, Are you feeling sick?" Fudou bent down to Tenma's level, checking for a fever.
"I'm okay! I'm fine. I just... uh... got lost in thought?" Tenma laughed and Fudou's gaze hardened as he stood back up.
"You don't need anymore distractions, you're already failing, Tenma." Fudou crossed his arms.
"I'm sorry, Sensei..." Tenma frowned, what was he doing? Thinking that getting Fudou-sensei a boyfriend would change all of this... it still wouldn't change his grades.
"Kidou-kun told me you needed extra classes. Is that true?" Fudou sat down on the desk next to Tenma's.
"Yes. I do." Tenma nodded.
"Why didn't you ask me yourself? I don't bite. Not always." Fudou laughed.
"I should have, but then I got distracted by other plans." Tenma whispered the last part. Plans as in setting up coach and Prof.
"You're the one who gave Kidou the goggles weren't you?" Fudou tilted his head and the 'Oh shit, here we go again' sound played in Tenma's head.
"What? Meee? Huuuh. I don't know what you're talking about!" Tenma laughed nervously.
"Don't lie to your professor, Matsukaze." Fudou flicked Tenma's head gently. "I know it was you."
"How did you know?" Tenma frowned.
"Oh, come on. I'd never give Kidou another piece of hideous goggles as if the ones he wasn't already wearing were weird." Fudou laughed.
"Fudou-sensei... I promise it was with good intentions!" Tenma scratched the back of his head.
"Is it the same as Tsurugi's intentions when he gave me the chocolates?" Fudou smirked, that evil signature smirk.
"That was all me, don't punish Tsurugi!" Tenma stood up quickly.
"Sit down, Tenma. Don't worry. I'll punish you all together." Fudou's smile was now passive-aggressive and Tenma sat down instantly, Fudou was really scary.
"We are so sorry, Fudou-sensei... It was stupid I know, I was just-!" Tenma tried to find a way out of this for his friends.
"It's alright. I know of your plan." Fudou pat Tenma's shoulder.
"Wha-?! How?!" The teen's jaw dropped, they were being so safe, talking where no one can hear!
"Kariya told me. To be fair, I did corner him into telling me everything." Fudou smirked, shrugging.
"Is that why he told us to stop the plan?" Tenma tilted his head.
"I told him to tell you about Endou and Kidou. It was fake, by the way." He stood up, "But don't worry, Tenma. Your plan wouldn't have worked either way. Because Kidou-kun and I were already together." Fudou winked, leaving the classroom and a shocked Tenma.
Fudou walked outside the school's premises, spotting his Kidou's car. He smirked, trying to hold back a laugh as he got in.
"Missed me, Kidou-kun?" The latter grinned.
"Akio, you sure took your time." Kidou sighed, removing his goggles.
"Apologies, I had someone to scold." Fudou kissed the other's forehead in an apologetic way.
"Matsukaze?" Kidou raised an eyebrow, and Fudou hummed.
"Teenagers. Tsk." Fudou shook his head, laughing.
"You were worse as a teenager, but come on. Give them a pass, they atleast got you your favorite chocolates." Kidou chuckled as he started the car, his other hand resting on Fudou's thigh.
"Poor Kidou-kun, he got goggles when he was expecting flowers~" Fudou teased before Kidou sent him a warning look.
"Shut up, Fudou."
"Back to Fudou now, hm?" Fudou grinned, looking out the window to see a flabbergasted Tsurugi with an embarrassed Kariya next to him. No wonder he was feeling watched, those two were spying on them. Fudou sent them a wink with a wave.
Man, he really loved torturing these kids. Atleast he was mature enough to flip them off like the old days...
