Summary
Six months had passed since Martinaise. Six months since Kim last spoke to Harry. After that, Harry made it clear he wanted nothing to do with him.
On the outside, everything seemed back to normal — but inside, Kim hadn’t let it go. He could've called. Damn, he could've even stopped by the 41st precinct. But the longer time went on, the more absurd the idea felt.
One morning, on his rare day off, Kim was called into the precinct. The captain gave him a task: attend a high-profile scientific conference east of the river, keep an eye on the 41st precinct officers, and report back.
At first glance, it seemed routine. But Kim had little doubt Harry would be there — and even less doubt that something bigger was at play.
