“I want to kiss you,” Mel blurted out rather than give him a thumbs up like she was supposed to. She wasn’t too good at understanding people’s facial expressions, but Frank’s gaping mouth and wide eyes seemed to indicate surprise. She was also pretty sure that her own face looked exactly like that when, instead of rejecting her, Frank leaned in and quietly asked if she wanted to get out of here as soon as the shift was done, together.
