Work Text:

Astro loved the stars. Ever since he went outside for the first time, it's been his obsession. Whenever there's an event that takes place outside, he would come out with a telescope, a notebook and pen. He would watch as stars glimmer in the night sky. Sometimes he would carry a book with him and trace the lines of the constellations to the sky above. He traces along the stars, mapping out the constellations like Cassiopeia, Ursa Major, Sagittarius, and more.

Tonight is the night both you and Astro would stargaze. As both of you pack your things, you notice Astro carry his favourite set. Usually he would just use his power and carry it outside but with your presence, he wouldn't mind taking off his blanket to reveal his four arms. You blush upon notice; he looks away.

When you both came outside, you felt the cold breeze caress you gently. The grass pulsing as it brushes your feet; it tickles but at the same time it was relaxing.

"Hey, the telescope is set." A voice called out.

You turn to learn it was Astro's voice, and he, with a smile, gestured for you to come as he walks towards it; you follow along. Both of you admire the stars as each of you point of your favourites. You had a lot but for Astro there's only one: The North Star.

"Do you know why I love the North Star?" He asked.

"Why?"

"According to the book, it was used by navigators, sailors, and travellers to know the direction they're in, especially in foreign, unknown lands. They would use the star as the origin to map out the direction they're heading towards. To me, whenever I feel lost, drifted in an endless sea of thought, I imagine the sky and picture the North Star, reminding me to stay grounded." He looks at you, grinning as he blushes as he holds your cheek.

He pulls you close, your eyes never been more closer than ever and there you see it: the shine in his eyes. It glew brighter than the stars; his soul was a dying star. Not in the way you would think, no, it is far from that. When dying stars reach their imminent death they first go through a series of phases with each one significantly brighter and hotter than the last. His soul wasn't a dying star because he's dying, it was the fact he had waited for this for so long. As he pulled closer, the distance between you collapsed as his lips met yours. The dying star became a nebula. Baffled were you, your eyes widened and your body taken aback but seconds later you returned the kiss; you even hugged him, and he hugged you back.

For the next few hours you made out with him, kissing him on his cheek, his neck, and his hand. He kissed you back the same place you kissed him. When you hugged you felt his heart beat to yours, his radiating warmth empowers the cold temperature as your body eases from tensions; you let out a sigh of relief. When both of you were finished, you stared at him one more time, his eyes now full of colour.

He opened his mouth.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

You packed your things as Astro looks at the North Star one last time, he smiled and looked at you. He took your hand as you both walked down back to Gardenview.

At his room, he groaned as he laid on his bed. You sat on the floor but he insisted on having you rest next to him; you had no choice but to do so. Holding you with his four arms, he slowly drifts to sleep. You blushed, you never thought he would be this cute when he sleeps, you couldn't help but caress his cheek as you scoot closer to him until there's barely any empty space left between you and him. Soon you would fall asleep as you felt eyes get heavy. You took one last look at him: his face, his black shirt, his face, and his arms. To him it was something he felt insecure about, something to hide away from the world, then you came and the whole world was before his eyes, and now that he is with you, all those things are no longer something he is ashamed of. You felt your eyes get heavier; it was time to sleep.

Finally, you closed your eyes and drifted off to sleep with the both of you holding each other.

Notes:

I got really inspired by that Astro ASMR video so I had to make this !!! It felt so relaxing to write this it feels like everything clicks together and isn't stress-inducing.

I hope you enjoyed reading it! Sorry if it's short
