Chapter Text
Wemmbu jumped back, his breath shuddering slightly as his feet landed on the destroyed ruins. He observed Flame below him, holding his sword and already grinning like he'd won.
See, this isn't exactly the predicament he expected nor wanted to be in. Parrot and Flame have worked together to create a trap for the invisible knight, forcing him to reveal his identity. He still remembered the way Flame's face lif up excitedly, obvious even with the blindfold covering his eyes; Wemmbu hated it. All of it. He just wanted a peaceful life in the server, to leave behind his...rather violent past. The blood stained weapons long dyed red with the amount of deaths he caused.
He sighed. Perhaps this was karma, or whatever god's way of telling him he deserved it.
Exhaustion weighed him down heavier than his armor, long dented and broken from his and Flame's fight against a thousand players.
He didn't really expect Flame to immediately challenge him to a rematch, not making room for any exceptions or protests. Wemmbu decided to draw his mace and get it over with.
Now, his eyes barely managed to process the light hitting them, his body not exactly working like it was supposed to. He could just barely see Flame's figure and hear his panicked voice, telling Wemmbu to stay awake and cursing at him for not dodging such an easy strike.
The corners of his mouth, despite the blood leaking from them, twitched upward. Flame paused in bewilderment. Wemmbu glanced down at his stomach, or at least, where his stomach was supposed to be. A deep stab replaced it instead. He turned back to Flame.
"Flame," He muttered, hoping his voice was loud enough. "There's something I need to say."
Flame narrowed his eyes down curiously, already expecting a thousand scenarios. He hoped for a specific one, but he would never say that out loud.
"Tell Egg that..that he was a really great 'friend'." Wemmbu said the last part more quietly than the rest, like he was hesitant. "Tell him not to blame himself. And that..that I'd want him to move on and continue living life somewhat happily."
The demon-tiger listened to him quietly, a pang of disappointment he didn't know was there bubbling in his chest. "You're not dying, bro."
Wemmbu tilted his head, like Flame was a nuisance like he usually was. Oh how Flame wished it was that. Not that because he-Wemmbu-the only person he somewhat held respect for was dying because of him. Whenever they fought, Wemmbu always moved his head curiously-almost mockingly, like Flame was a weird being, or strange.
He wished it could go back to that.
Instead, he exhaled slowly.
Wemmbu noticed this, grinning. "D'alright. You know, denial's quite a strong suit for you.."
Flame glared at him, irritation slowly itching his throat. "Shut up, bro."
Wemmbu laughed, but his voice grew weaker. The two sat in silence as Wemmbu's eyes lost color, the death message appearing in Flame's communicator.
[Wemmbu] was slain by [FlameFrags] by [Fragger].
