Zephyro’s grip tightens, the leather of his glove pulling taut. Given his strength, Nanook had every right to be arrogant, Zephyro could accept that much. But it was the insufferable sense of entitlement, bordering on brattish, that he refused to tolerate.
“Name it, you won’t be alive to see it anyway.”
“So confident, I like you.” He licks his lips, amused. “If I win this fight, I get to hire you.”
“I’m not looking for a job.”
“You misunderstand me, Zephyro.” Nanook’s mouth curves into a devilish grin. “I’m not giving you a choice.”
Zephyro is commissioned by a rival gang to take down Nanook. Remarkably, his opponent is just as eager for a fight as he is.
