Chapter Text

Today was like how it'd been for weeks, Bruce would wake up exhausted only getting to sleep for 2-3 hours, go to several galas and other events including meetings, then once it hits evening he has to become batman, the dark knight. Which is even more stressful. Once getting home to the manor he felt out of place like there was something also going on other than his depression and stressful days... Hed go to bed and try to ignore all his problems, but when he laid in his bed eyes glancing up at the ceiling his body feeling heavy like so much weight was on his shoulders. But deep down he thought about all his past actions sure people loved batman and enjoyed Brucie Waynes fun personality, but Bruce deep down thought he deserved all the stress and pain. Even though he acts like he's getting better, like he's trying to fix his schedule and ask for help... But in the end, he thinks he's just some asshole who can't ask for help and deserves what happens to him.

But specifically, today he felt exhausted he had a nightmare that night before and felt dead all day. As he finished his patrol as batman that evening and he felt worn out, depressed, and even had a wound on his arm. Once Bruce entered the Batcave he noticed Alfred cleaning some stuff up Bruce didn't even look in his direction and sat at the Bat-computer. A small frown was on his face as he tried to write a report of what happened, but everything was too big, he felt overwhelmed and nothing made sense. He took a breath slouching for the first time in what felt like weeks Alfred glanced over at Bruce noticing his distressed expression and the lack of words on the screen. Alfred then said softly, "Master Bruce you seemed troubled anything bothering you?" hoping Bruce wouldn't shut him down immediately. "Nothing Alfred..."

Bruce's voice was hoarse and ruff as he spoke. Alfred had noticed the degrade in Bruce's mental health and how he'd been aggressive and closed off anytime Alfred brought it up. But Alfred was getting annoyed at this cycle and wasn't going to let the man he'd raised not take care of himself. Alfred walked over calmly then grabbed his wrist tightly forcing Bruce to look at him. "Alfred I'm fine!'' He shouted but Bruce was trembling everything was too big, too scary, and too fuzzy... He didn't want to act like an adult all-day feeling exhausted and horrible, but his pride wouldn't let him admit how he really felt. Alfred's eyes sharpened more a frown more evident on his face "Master Bruce go to bed you need sleep." Bruce sighed knowing there was no point in arguing he was too tired to argue. He got up from the chair leaving the Batcave but once his head hit the bed even though still in the batman suit, he knocked out immediately.

When Bruce woke up that morning, he felt different...He felt emotional and scared like a small child. He got up but everything felt big and so overwhelming. Suddenly there was a knock at the door then he heard Alfred's voice "Master Bruce, are you awake?" Bruce trembled, terrified if Alfred saw him, this weird crying mess... "I'm getting dressed!" His voice trembled and cracked but he calmed down slightly as he heard Alfred walk away. Bruce sat on the floor trying to calm himself down with deep breaths, but he couldn't shake the fuzzy and overwhelming feeling.
