During the course of the war, energon became an increasing scarcity for the Autobots ever since the Decepticons overtook Cybertron. Now they wander the stars, hunting for the most-energon rich planets and draining them of as much energon as needed to carry on just a little bit more.
One day, the crew of the Gemini—one of the two largest Autobot ships—spotted a new energon signal on their radar during their scouting. The biggest one since Cybertron. An energon deposit to rival their home planet. So they charted the course for the newly-discovered desert planet.
They did puzzle over it of course; where they were heading was incredibly far from Cybertron. How did so much energon form? And why there, where there were no Cybertronians to consume it. Some land surveying would be due. If they could figure out how it was achieved here, perhaps they could recreate it on other planets, or their own ship. A never-ending supply of energon.

Deep within the sands of Daillenoor, several pairs of optics observed a screen. A ship, a Cybertronian one, headed straight for their planet. A living one too.
Nothing alive has been able to even come near for so, so, so long. He couldn’t wait to see what had slipped through the cracks.
