Summary
“Marianne,” His voice was too loud. Everyone in the room looked to him, most with creased confusion in their brow. Except for Mrs. Jennings of course who knew far more than she should. “Apologies,” He lowered his voice, “May I speak with you regarding the dinner preparations for a moment.”
His pretty little wife’s head was cocked in confusion but she walked to take his arm nonetheless.
“Of course Colonel.”
He hated when she called him that. Though she always called him Colonel in front of company. He still detested the formality of the woman he loved more than anyone else referring to him by his Military ranking and not his name.
When they were in the hallway she began speaking though they continued their walk deeper into their home.
“I am having Chef prepare duck with asparagus and roasted potatoes. I do think he will still have time to change it to fish if you-”
He could not take it another moment, he cut her off with a searing kiss. His hands firmly grasped her jaw and hip as he guided her to the nearby wall.
A sound of surprise erupted from her.
“I want you,” he groaned in her ear, manipulating her head so he could feast upon her slender neck.
