Summary:

A Prowl character study. Just another conversation with Chromedome. A moment magnified without restraint.

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

"They treat you differently."

> Analysis
"They" - other people, not including the two of us.
"Treat" - behaviour displayed by the aforementioned "they".
"You" - referring to enforcement unit 187E-I, given name "Prowl", myself.
"Differently" - unlike an established condition.

> Each piece of information when taken together:
"They" "Treat" "You" "Differently"; and combined with context cues and Tumbler's tone suggests a negative connotation. The "they" referred to is most likely (87% probability) forged individuals, especially those we work alongside. The "different treatment" is discriminatory.

> From my records, I can confirm the veracity of these two statements.

> I have no reason to not answer Tumbler truthfully in this situation.

> Suitable response: Yes. They do.

Response time: 0.728 seconds
Operational efficiency: 97%
Evaluation: within normal parameters

"Yes. They do."

"Because you're cold constructed?"

> Acknowledge correct conclusion of previous

> Response formulation
Likely reasons for "different treatment" of "Me":
> Cold Construction status (66%) - widely discrimination upon within Cybertronian society. A matter beyond my jurisdiction.
> "Awful personality" (21.9%) - programmed into my brain module from inception. Unchangeable.
> Subjective reasoning of others which is inherently individualistic, uncontrollable, and based upon momentary "whims" (12.09%)
> Another unconsidered reason (0.01%)

Appropriate response: Most Likely.

Response time: 0.913 seconds
Operational efficiency: 94%
Evaluation: within normal parameters

"Most likely."

"That doesn't seem fair to me."

> Tumbler is voicing an opinion with ambiguous optimal response.

> Use of humour to “brush off” “different treatment” may be advised.

> Wisest action is to not speak, and instead use a vocal prompt to illicit further information.

> Many options have been acquired and are available for disposal. "Hm?" murmured with relaxed affectation has produced the most consistent results.

Response time: 0.455 seconds
Operational efficiency: 98%
Evaluation: above normal parameters

"Hm?"

"Yeah, the Functionists constructed you and others like you cold. The least people could do is give a bit more respect."

Action: Be… Honest

Response time: 5.82 seconds
Operational efficiency: 37%
Evaluation: exceptionally below normal parameters (factor output into later analysis)

"I cannot "turn my big brain off". It is not possible for me. It's like asking either of us to turn into planes despite the fact we are cars. I understand to you and many others, my communication style can seem strange and even off putting. I am blatantly aware of that. However, it is not something I can change. It is a fundamental part of my construction. Of who I am."

Tumbler pauses, then sighs. "Yeah. You're right. I'm sorry. I was just feeling frustrated."

> pursue topic gently with further questioning

"About me?"

"About lots of things."

> offer consolement

"Would you like to talk about it?"

Tumbler rubs his neck, appearing uncomfortable. He frowns. "Well, I'm actually cold constructed too. My model is pretty unique and had a limited run so only a few of us ever existed. It means I can usually go under the radar."

> Tumbler displays a subtle nervousness to his features. The upper ridges of his visor angles downwards approximately 7 degrees on the distal edge.

"Keep it to yourself though, yeah?"

>

"Yes. Of course."

Tumbler smiles. I can hear it.
> adding audio file to database > Folder [Tumbler]

> Evaluation
“Honesty” was a successful response. Future application may be warranted*. Added to Folder [Negotiation Strategies]

*with certain individuals.

Notes:

Can you tell autism comes naturally to me?

Originally this was planed to be chapter 5 of a Prowl character study. This would be one of the only chapters written entirely this way. Never got around to writing more, but it could happen.
