Before the world burned Kael was an Assassin He was trained in the old ways and he believed in the Creed and he had a wife named Mira and a daughter named Lyra Then the oil wars came and the bombs fell and the world turned to ash Mira and Lyra died in the first winter and Kael buried them in the desert and he walked away from everything he had ever believed in For years he wandered the wasteland alone fighting for water killing when he had to and never staying in one place long enough to care about anyone Then he met Rin a young woman who escaped from the Citadel where a tyrant named Immortan Joe hoarded water and enslaved women to bear his children Rin is running towards something she does not know yet and Kael finds himself following her because she reminds him of Lyra and because he is tired of running away Together they join Furiosa and Max and the Vuvalini on the road to the Green Place and Kael must decide if he can pick up the hidden blade again and become the Assassin he once was
