OCTOBER 16TH, 2010
Hunter Cornichon was in his bedroom, playing on his Nintendo DS, he was playing the New Super Mario Bros. game on his Nintendo DS, he was playing as Mario in the game and as he was enjoying his fun, his flip phone suddenly rang. Hunter paused his game to answer the phone call, he placed his Nintendo DS down before looking at the flip phone, it was his girlfriend named Destiny Paulie calling, he answered and said "Hey babe, what's up?"
"Hey baby," Destiny called as she sounded so nervous on the line "I have something to tell you but please don't get mad." Hunter looked confused, raising an eyebrow as he asked "What is it that you want to tell me?" Hunter heard Destiny taking a deep breath, asking her boyfriend "Do you remember the day where we went to Jackson's birthday party and we got drunk? I have been missing my period and I started getting sick in the morning, when my mom took me to the doctor, it was revealed that I'm pregnant with your baby, and you're the father."
Hunter let out a surprised look on his face, he said in a little bit of anger "You can't be serious, right?"
"I wish that I was lying about this but I'm not joking or lying, I am pregnant with your child, my parents aren't letting me abort the pregnancy and I want you to help me." Destiny said on the other line, Hunter got angry and said "I'm sorry Destiny, I can't discontinue my education just to raise a kid, we're breaking up and you're on your own now. Bye." Hunter hit the red button, hanging up the call and he continued playing his game on his Nintendo DS.
He thought nothing of it, until over 9 months later.
Hunter was upstairs in his bedroom, playing an online game on his computer when he heard his father's voice "HUNTER CORNICHON, GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!" Hunter paused his game, taking off his headphones to go downstairs, he saw his parents standing there, looking frustrated directly at him, there was a female social worker standing by the door, holding a baby on her arms and Hunter's mother asked with anger "Would you mind explaining why is there a social worker and a baby at our house?!"
"I don't know." Hunter said in a panic, feared that his parents would find out the truth.
"Oh really, we got a complaint from your ex-girlfriend's parents, saying that you refused to stay with her because she felt pregnant with your child and that you lied to us, saying that she broke up with you. We have a social worker with your daughter on her arms, Destiny have passed away from giving birth to your daughter and her parents couldn't afford raising her." His mother said angrily, her arms crossed as she continued "Not to mention that you lied to us about the whole break up thing, but you refuse to raise your own child and let your ex-girlfriend die from having your baby!"
Hunter looked at the social worker, who looked serious at him as his mother said "We told the social worker that we'll be having you take care of the baby, and we already signed the disown papers already." Hunter's father pointed to the stairs, saying seriously "Get packing! The social worker will send you somewhere else where you can raise your daughter, all by yourself!"
That was the beginning of hell for Hunter.
Hunter had to pack up his belongings (except for his video games, school stuff, and others) to be taken away by the female social worker, who took him to some empty house and dropped him off with the baby. The baby's name is Maddison, Hunter was left to raise Maddison all on his own, he didn't have any support from his former friends, who left him behind after the word got around, he was forced to drop off his education to take care of his daughter, and he was forced to work a job to raise Maddison.
Maddison was seen sobbing inside her crib, with 15 year old Hunter staring angrily at his daughter, his arms were crossed on his chest, he was getting more annoyed by the cries of his daughter and he said "This is all your fault Maddison! You ruined my life! Now thanks to you, I have no girlfriend to deal with you! I have no friends to support me! My parents wanted nothing to do with me anymore and I'm stuck raising you all alone! Ugh! I wish Destiny was here to deal with you instead of me!"
Hunter stormed out of the room, hating the baby for everything.
FIVE YEARS LATER
After putting 5 year old Maddison Cornichon to sleep, Hunter exited the house, locked the door to get inside his car that he brought from a low budgeting company, he got inside and drove off to a bar called Sevens At Midnight. Hunter parked at an empty parking spot, got off his car before closing and locking the vehicle, he made his way inside the bar, where he found an empty seat. He was wearing his favorite black coat, he looked tired and the bartender approached the 20 year old man, who had his head down.
As Hunter had his head down, the female bartender looked at the exhausted man, asking "Rough day?" Hunter lifted his head up, his elbows on the table as he nods his head, saying "Yeah, I had to deal with my daughter again. Ever since I was forced to raise that brat, my life has been shitty-ass, all she does is cry, cry, and cry. She is getting on my nerves, all because I was hardly feeding her, all she wants is an apple and she likes to watch that new show that came out a year ago."
"What was the name of the show?" The bartender asked Hunter, who answered "It was called PJ Masks or something, but that show is so stupid and it's about this trio who goes save the city from the villains. Maddison watches the show nonstop and it's driving me crazy. By the way, can I get the regular like last time?"
"Sure." The female bartender nodded as she started making the beverage for Hunter, the 20 year old single father waited for his drink to arrive and it came, he grabbed it and asked the female bartender "I didn't get your name by the way, what's your name?"
The female bartender smiled at Hunter, answering "My name is Barbara Jackson, and I know we've seen each other for a while now, what's your name again?"
Hunter smiled warmly at the older woman, saying his name to her "Hunter Cornichon, I'm glad to know someone who listens to me and understands me when I needed them." Barbara giggled, saying "Of course, whenever you need to talk to me about anything or need some rest, always come here." The man nodded and that was the beginning of a blossoming relationship.
Barbara started babysitting Maddison while Hunter went to get his GED, Barbara have also grown a hatred for Maddison whenever she needed to deal with Maddison, and Barbara agreed with Hunter about Maddison. At first, Barbara simply ignored Maddison whenever she would babysit Maddison, but it slowly becoming abusive and one day, Barbara moved into Hunter's house after getting engaged to Hunter.
"Daddy! Do I have a mommy now?" Maddison asked excitedly, Hunter was seen eating some cereal with a bottle of beer, the man looked at Maddison and said to her in annoyance "Go back to your room or you will have no breakfast again!" Maddison ran back to her room, the 6 year old girl went to her room and hugged her stuffed animal, saying "I wish daddy would love me."
PRESENT DAY
Maddison Cornichon is now 15 years old, she is now living separately from her parents house, she lives in the garage and the only person who loves her is her younger stepbrother named William. William would bring Maddison food when their parents aren't looking, he would bring clothes to her, and school is the only place that she likes to stay after school.
