   Summary

   The battle at Fort Wagner was practically a suicide mission, killing almost half of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry, including Robert Gould Shaw. But what if in an alternate world, Robert and Cabot Forbes survived the attack, moved to a farm in the suburbs, and tried to build a life together after the war?
