The change was instantaneous.
Draco's entire body locked up. A shudder rolled through him from shoulders to knees, so violent that his head snapped back against the stone with a soft crack. His breath punched out in a broken gasp, lips parting around a sound that was protest and something far more humiliating.
Malfoy swallowed. The motion dragged Harry’s thumb a fraction higher, and another tiny, involuntary noise slipped out—higher this time, almost a whimper. Malfoy’s ears flushed scarlet in the torchlight, the color spreading down the pale column of his throat
Harry had meant to threaten. He had meant to demand answers. Instead he was indexing the way Malfoy’s eyelashes fluttered, the way the tendons in his neck stood out like cords, the way his body seemed to be fighting itself not to lean into the touch.
