“So,” Vincent began, almost hesitantly, “I’ve been thinking, Alastor…” He suddenly fell silent. Alastor turned his head toward Vox. He looked unsure about whether he should keep talking, even though just seconds ago he had been determined to say something. Something important, judging by his expression.
“Well?” Alastor asked, thinking Vox needed a push to continue.
Vox stayed silent for a few moments, as if debating whether to continue or talk about something else. Finally, he sighed. “I had a whole speech prepared. But… I don’t know if that’s what I really want to say.”
Or: Vox decides to offer Alastor the partnership in a different way, and that completely changes the outcome of that moment.
