lovey-dovey

Summary:

“Wanna wear my face, jagi?”

Jisung chuckled softly and nodded. That was what they said on stage too, even promising a picture. He genuinely loved the idea, and he wasn't joking when he said it would make a perfect pajama shirt.

“Let’s do it,” he replied, leaning in to press another quick kiss to Minho’s lips before finally letting go and stepping back.

or: Jisung and Minho take a selfie in the couple shirts they won at the first day of the fanmeet.

Work Text:

“Hey, Jisung-ah,” Minho’s voice called out just as Jisung was kicking off his shoes after they got back to their shared apartment following the fanmeet.

Minho had already rushed ahead inside, earlier daring Jisung to race him from the elevator to the front door, winning easily since Jisung had been caught off guard and half-asleep after the long day. Minho had quickly punched in the door code and disappeared inside.

They were both carrying a lot, their bags from the morning along with additional things from the fanmeet, including letters from fans the staff had allowed them to keep and a few small gifts.

Jisung wasn’t even sure what exactly was in all the bags. He only remembered how Minho had snatched one particular bag from the trunk on their way home, holding onto it with a mischievous smirk, even while they took a couple of silly selfies in the elevator mirror.

“Yeah, hyung?” Jisung called back as he stepped further inside, slipping out of his shoes and looking around for him.

All he wanted was a quick shower and then to collapse into bed, preferably with Minho wrapped around him. Management had told them to keep their distance during the fanmeet this weekend, and the lack of contact was already getting to him. The previous week, they’d had a bit more freedom, and it was genuinely so much fun. He even managed to kiss Minho’s cheek in front of everyone, and they let a few implications slip. It had been both thrilling and frustrating, hinting at something real while still protecting it in a world that wouldn’t take kindly to them being together.

“Wanna try it on and take a selfie?”

Minho’s voice came from further inside the apartment, and since he wasn’t in the living room, Jisung followed the sound to the main bedroom.

They had two bedrooms in the apartment, both fully furnished, but they mostly used the larger one together. Occasionally, they still slept separately due to different schedules and the occasional need for space, but not nearly as often as in the beginning, when they were still adjusting to the unfamiliar privacy of living just the two of them. It had been a big step for their steadily growing relationship, and it took time to get used to being able to simply exist as themselves behind closed doors.

Right now, though, Jisung’s tired mind couldn’t make sense of Minho’s request. He tried to recall everything they had brought back, wondering what could have gotten Minho this excited that he even wanted to take a selfie about it, but nothing came to mind.

When he stepped into the bedroom, he finally spotted Minho standing next to the bed. The same bag from earlier lay open and discarded on the unmade sheets, and Minho was staring at a piece of white fabric.

“What’s that?” Jisung asked as he walked closer, his hand instinctively reaching out to caress Minho’s back. As he leaned in to peer over his shoulder, his chest brushing against Minho, he could practically feel the chuckle vibrating through his body.

Then he finally spotted what made Minho so giggly…

Laid out on the bed were the matching couple shirts they had received on the first day of the fanmeet, featuring characters from that lovey dovey cartoon, now printed with their faces.

Jisung could feel warmth spread across his chest. Minho had always been the more reserved one when it came to their relationship in public, easily flustered in a way Jisung found endlessly endearing. Seeing him this excited over something like this, something they could easily pass off as simple fanservice, made Jisung’s heart swell. Even if the company might scold them for posting something that wasn’t scheduled for them, it still felt like a small window they could slip through. It wasn’t ideal, but Jisung liked it.

A soft smile spread across his face as he leaned forward, burying it briefly in the crook of Minho’s neck to compose himself. When he pulled back, he pressed a gentle kiss to the exposed skin there. “Of course, jagi. Let’s do it.”

Minho let out another giggle, clearly pleased, and began to turn around. Despite his exhaustion, Jisung felt a playful spark flicker through him and wrapped his arms around Minho’s waist to hold him in place. It didn’t last long. Minho was stronger, as always, but it was fun. Teasing him like this, even knowing he would get it back later, was part of how Jisung loved to play with his boyfriend.

Minho shifted, pushing his ass back against Jisung’s front slightly to break free, and Jisung held on for a moment longer before finally letting him turn, his hands still lingering at his waist.

When they were face to face, close enough to feel each other’s breath, they paused for a second, simply looking at one another. With his makeup smudged around the edges, Minho looked striking. Vulnerable in a way that made something in Jisung’s chest tighten. Minho often said he liked Jisung’s bare face, but Jisung wished he could say just as easily how much he loved seeing Minho in every state imaginable, features sharp yet soft at the same time, an eternal beauty in Jisung’s eyes.

Jisung couldn’t help but lean forward, eyes falling shut briefly, and pressed a short, soft kiss to Minho’s lips. He missed this. He always missed being able to kiss Minho freely.

A small, stubborn part of him was still salty about having to switch pairs during the fanmeet. He couldn’t help wondering what would’ve happened if he had been paired with Minho, whether they could have gotten away with something as simple as brushing lips in front of everyone while playing the pepero game. It wouldn’t have meant anything to anyone else, but he wished he could’ve done that at least as part of a game.

Not that he thought Minho would let them. His boyfriend would probably pull back before they could even meet in the middle, ears and neck flushed a deep red, flustered as if he weren’t already completely Jisung’s.

It was so cute, the way Jisung still had that kind of effect on him even after all these years. It made his heart flutter, leaving him warm and quietly giddy.

Jisung’s eyes followed the way Minho’s cute front teeth caught his lower lip, gently gnawing on it. For a moment, he was tempted to lean in and mirror the gesture himself, but before he could, Minho let go, his lips stretching into the cutest smile.

“Wanna wear my face, jagi?”

Jisung chuckled softly and nodded. That was what they said on stage too, even promising a picture. He genuinely loved the idea, and he wasn't joking when he said it would make a perfect pajama shirt. Even though he usually slept half-naked, just in his underwear, there were nights he missed Minho, and wearing something like this would be comforting.

“Let’s do it,” he replied, leaning in to press another quick kiss to Minho’s lips before finally letting go and stepping back.

Minho grabbed the shirts from the bed and lazily laced his fingers with Jisung’s, guiding him toward the bathroom where the lighting was best. They quickly took off their shirts, tossing them into the laundry basket, then pulled on the matching ones. They looked a little ridiculous, but undeniably cute. Jisung found himself watching Minho adjust the shirt with his face printed on it, his eyes bright with excitement, and he could practically feel his heart melt inside his chest at the sight.

“How do you want to do this?” Jisung asked, trying to think of a pose that would make the characters on their shirts line up properly.

Minho hummed, squinting slightly at their reflection before pulling his phone from his back pocket. He wrapped an arm around Jisung’s shoulders and pulled him closer until their sides pressed together.

“Like this,” he said, making sure the prints aligned perfectly before snapping a quick photo.

Jisung’s eyes widened, caught off guard. “Wait, I wasn’t ready,” he complained, turning toward Minho just as another picture was taken.

Minho only giggled, making a silly face at him through the mirror and snapping yet another shot.

“I’m waiting, jagi. Get into position,” Minho teased as Jisung shifted, throwing up a peace sign before turning back to the mirror. After a second, he settled on a playful kissy face, holding the pose while Minho took a few more pictures before suddenly turning towards Jisung. He felt Minho’s warm breath brush against his cheek and turned his head, brows lifting in question.

“One more,” Minho muttered softly, but before Jisung could react, he leaned in and pressed their lips together. Jisung melted into it instantly, distracted by the familiar softness of his boyfriend’s kiss, barely registering the faint camera sound in the background. Minho’s lips lingered just long enough to make his head spin, his tongue licking over Jisung’s lower lip playfully before he pulled back abruptly, not giving Jisung the chance to reciprocate.

“Hey,” Jisung whined, chasing after him with a pout as Minho leaned further away, giggling. “I want more kisses.”

“You’ll get more after you take a shower,” Minho replied, arms slipping from around Jisung’s shoulders and patting his ass before stepping back fully. Jisung pouted some more, but Minho wasn’t budging.

“Hyung?” Jisung tried again, blinking cutely at Minho, but he only glanced at him briefly before returning his attention to his phone, absorbed in the photos he took.

“Take a shower, Jisung-ah,” he repeated, already heading out of the bathroom without bothering to close the door. They never really used it anyway. “I’ll edit the best one and send it to STAY. You’ll get your kisses when we’re in bed, so hurry up.”

Later that night, after they had both showered, and Jisung’s lips were still faintly tingling from how thoroughly Minho had kissed him afterward, he opened Twitter and started scrolling through the day’s posts.

To nobody’s surprise, between clips from the fanmeet, his entire timeline was flooded with the very Minho-like censored version of their selfie from earlier. The fans were going completely crazy over it.

Good, Jisung thought as he glanced over at Minho’s sleeping face, his boyfriend already murmuring nonsense in his sleep in the most endearing way. Good, because Jisung was going a little crazy too. He loved Minho so much, but if this was all they could share of themselves for now, then it was fine.

Maybe one day, it could be more.
