Work Text:

“Your fault!”

“You’re a healer, aren’t you?!”

“It was a mistake, the witches should’ve never made you.”

“Failure.”

“Don’t you see how much you fuck up?!”

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Truthless Recluse shot up in bed, his breathing ragged as his grip tightened on his sheets. He closed his eyes, shaking his head slowly as he pushed himself out of bed, forcing his hands to stop shaking.

Just a memory, he mused, blindly reaching out for his staff. The familiar wood met his palm, and the room slowly came into focus. The walls glittered with his enchantments, the house eagerly responding to even his laziest commands. The door swung open, and Truthless slowly made his way down the stairs into a small room with nothing but a singular blue scrying orb, the soft blue light tracing hazy patterns into the walls behind him.

He pressed a hand against the side, watching the orb shift, slowly rising until the illusion wrapped around him like a blanket.

Truthless glanced to the side, his gaze landing on the loudest cookie he’d ever seen, already prattling off his current lesson of the day.

“Dark moon magic and light moon magic are twins of the same root, yet the uses are vastly different!” The Sage of Truth beamed brightly, his sunny disposition starkly contrasting the magic he wielded, “Now, for many of you, dark moon magic would be a death sentence!”

“Professor Blueberry Milk, you wield dark moon magic…?” a child frowned, their head tilting as the Sage laughed, “That is true, however, I am not a normal cookie, you see, my souljam stabilizes itself naturally, which means I use dark moon magic without the threat of going insane! Regardless, I normally stick to elemental magic anyway! Much less costly than dark moon magic! I suggest you all do the same!”

He began prattling off about the elemental magics, his eyes lighting up as he spoke, so animated when he settled into the routine he knew well. Eventually, the lecture died down, and the Sage remained with a few other cookies, humming happily as he spoke about assignments.

“Disgusting.” Truthless Recluse hissed, his eyes narrowing at the sight of his other half, souljam proudly worn on his chest. The cold souljam in Truthless Recluse’s robes hummed softly, but he grimaced, ignoring the taunts of the Light of Deceit with mental shields long honed.

The Beast of Deceit shook his head, squeezing his staff tighter as he glared at the Sage. So ignorant, so willfully moronic.

How painful.

(How disgustingly familiar)

Truthless Recluse huffed, shaking his head as he walked away, the only thing echoing through the halls of his Spire being his footsteps and the dull thumps of his staff against the ground.

It didn’t take long to reach his kitchen, unmarked by the scorch marks from his and the Sage’s battle still harshly contrasting his neat, uniform walls upstairs.

Ever since that horrid cookie of truth came to his home, Truthless has been nothing short of upset. Every ideal he spent his corruption trying to hide, the Sage fought to reveal. That egotistical prick even had the audacity to ask Truthless to come with him. To spread the knowledge he once held.

Truthless scoffed, shaking his head as he pulled out a delicate tea bag, filled with herbs he had finally begun to grow again in a higher room of the tower. He placed it in a cup already set out, rolling back his sleeves after it settled in the bottom of the cup.

He squeezed his eyes shut, focusing on his magic. A ball of water swirled in his palm, and he slowly released his magic, filling up his kettle halfway with water.

Truthless sat down at the lonesome island in the middle of the room, absentmindedly picking at the loose strings on his robes. He waited until the soft hiss of water boiling filled the air to stand up, pouring the water into his cup and sitting back down.

He let the tea steep, then removed the tea bag.

Since his fall, he’d taken to straight black tea, nothing in it. Gingerly, he sipped on the drink, trying to quell the incessant rumbles of his stomach.

Truthless closed his eyes, sighing softly as he leaned back ever-so-slightly in his chair, setting his drink down on the table.

Of course, just when he was getting comfortable, he felt a tug against his magic, pulling him away. Truthless groaned, but let the magic sweep around his body. It felt… less intense than before, his magic severely weakened by the Sage of Truth.

Speak of the devil, there he stood outside of the Recluse’s barrier to the Peak of Truth, his bright smile even more blinding now that he was bathed in light and purity. Truthless narrowed his eyes, watching the Sage hesitantly press his hand against the barrier.

He perked up when it didn’t shock him, “Truthless! I thought you’d still be here!”

The Recluse narrowed his eyes further, but the Sage only laughed, “I see why my truthseekers say you’re terrifying!”

“What do you want, Sage?”

“Ooo, blunt!” The scholar’s demeanor shifted slightly as he continued, “I’ll give it to you straight, Clusey! I was merely checking on you, knew I kinda… ruinedyourhomeandIfeelbad?!”

He shuffled slightly closer, hesitantly muttering, “You also… don’t seem… okay…”

Truthless rolled his eyes, “You destroyed my home, I’m not sure why now you feel remorse.”

The Sage winced, “Well…”

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧Flashback✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

The Sage of Truth was tired. This cookie, shrouded in mystery and folklore, was living up to every single horror story he was told. Terrifying power, death glares, and gravelly, short words. Truthless continued fighting, even with jam pouring down his side, sending waves of Deceit magic toward the Sage.

When he felt the burst of power, light surrounding his form as he ascended, he saw the look on Truthless’s face for a brief moment.

His eyes were wide, his brows scrunched up in a hurt sort of confusion.

The Sage of Truth had done what the hermit could not, rise above Deceit, and he saw how much that cookie had suffered.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ End✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Truthless scoffed, “I don’t need your pity.”

Sage beamed, “It isn't pity. It is concern, very different. I do not feel bad for the situation you’ve put yourself into, however, it seems you are… unfit to be alone.”

The silence seemed to weigh heavily upon the two cookies as Truthless Recluse stilled. Slowly, the fabric of his cloak shifted as a deep laugh escaped Truthless. He slowly shook his head, growing louder and more deranged.

“Unfit?!” he inhaled sharply, “You know nothing, Sage.”

The Sage hesitated, “I- I misspoke.”

Truthless got quiet again, his voice low as he whispered, “Taking your words back now? How cowardly.”

His cloak swept across the ground as he crossed his barrier, seizing the Sage of Truth by the collar. The scholar yelped, his eyes darting in panic as magic gathered in Truthless’s hands.

The Sage laughed, a small smile on his face as he placed his hands on Truthless’s shoulders, “I do apologise, but you speak of cowardly actions, yet you hide here from the Truth… seems pretty cowardly-!”

A shadow wrapped tightly over the Sage’s mouth, the magic around him growing heavier as Truthless growled, “I am no coward. I protect your students from the Truth that destroyed my life.”

Truthless shoved the Sage away, magic surging behind him to reseal the barrier around the Peak of Truth.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

“Well… that was… interesting!”

Blueberry Milk brushed himself off, stepping forward toward the Recluse’s magic barrier. At a simple feather-light touch of his hand, the entire barrier shook wildly, magic shooting out in tendrils toward him. These were easily dispelled with a flash of light, Truthless Recluse’s magic seemed to be weaker than before, making the Sage even more concerned.

He shook off the guilt forming in the pit of his stomach, pressing his hand against the magic barrier. Blueberry Milk sent a stream of magic through the barrier, quickly disbanding it. He sauntered through the sparks of falling magic, heading toward the Recluse’s tower.

It was rebuilt, to the Sage’s surprise. Every brick was in place, despite Truthless Recluse’s words.

“He is a notorious liar.” Blueberry Milk muttered as he walked toward the door, nearly getting whacked in the face by Truthless Recluse himself.

Truthless looked awful, his hair mused with deep eyebags as he glared at the Sage, his flower staff nowhere in sight.

His voice was low and gravelly as he spoke, “You are terribly persistent.”

“I know!” Blueberry Milk smiled, “I promise to not blow your tower up… again?”

Truthless blinked a few times before groaning, a hand finding its way to pinch the bridge of his nose, “If I let you in and entertain your idiocy, will you leave?”

“Yes!”

Truthless sighed, “Fine, come in.”

Blueberry Milk happily skipped into the main entryway as the door slammed shut behind him. He turned around, and Truthless Recluse waved his hand wordlessly, walking off to a new part of the tower that Blueberry Milk had never seen before. They descended down a staircase, instead of heading up in the tower itself.

“Do you live underneath the tower?!”

Truthless said nothing, but the Sage of Truth just knew he was right. The dark stone transitioned to a softer grey wallpaper that had a… unique magic signature to it. Blueberry Milk frowned, tilting his head as he wracked his brain for any clue to what it could be.

“Is the color an illusion?”

Again, Truthless refused to answer. Blueberry Milk sighed dramatically, “I thought you said you’d entertain my ‘idiocy’, maybe I’ll make this a daily checkup!”

“It’s an illusion.” Truthless Recluse shot the Sage a glare, “Happy?”

“Very!”

Truthless rolled his eyes, stopping abruptly. Blueberry Milk nearly crashed into him, but his flight spell saved him, his feet lifting off the ground before he could slip straight into Truthless’s back. In front of them was a wooden doorframe that opened up into a room shrouded in shadows. Truthless Recluse took a deep breath before holding his hand up, letting a spark of magic fly out to dissipate the darkness covering the room.

He walked in before Blueberry Milk could get a word in, so he hurriedly followed after. The walls were a soft cream waffle pattern that was clearly faded. Blueberry gasped softly, “You do have softness in there somewhere-!”

A shadow slapped itself over Blueberry Milk’s mouth, to his dismay. Truthless narrowed his eyes, “Your assumptions are baseless for a cookie so desperate to cling to truth.”

“Not baseless if I have something to go off of, silly!” Blueberry Milk walked closer to Truthless, beaming so hard he felt like his mouth would fall off, “You hide yourself up here for a reason, and I’ll figure out why!”

Truthless leaned back, a short growl escaping his lips as he walked over to a door close to the entryway, swinging it open and gesturing toward it, “Get in.”

Blueberry Milk wasted no time getting into the mystery room. Inside, a row of cream-and-white cabinets with soft blue gems embedded in them greeted him, paired with an island in the middle of the kitchen with high chairs lining the edge. Truthless swept across the kitchen as the door slammed shut behind him, grumbling under his breath as he opened a cabinet. Inside, was an arrangement of various tea bags haphazardly strewn around a box.

Already, a kettle whistled on the stove, making Blueberry Milk jump at its sudden appearance. Although, with each spell cast, the Sage’s concern for Truthless grew deeper and greater with every hesitation the other had.

Truthless worked slowly, pouring the hot water over a tea bag, his hands shaking ever-so-slightly. He lifted another mug to his lips, taking a slow sip as he placed the kettle on an unused burner.

The cookie of deceit settled at one of the chairs, grumbling, “You have one question.”

Blueberry Milk’s face scrunched up in confusion, “One is not nearly enough, dear Truthless! How about twenty questions?”

Truthless Recluse scoffed, pushing the mug over to the Sage and removing the tea bag with magic. Right before it reached a trash can off to the side, his magic slipped, and the bag fell toward the floor.

Soft blue magic surrounded the bag, guiding it into the trash. Blueberry Milk offered Truthless a soft beam, to which the other groaned, “Five questions. I reserve the right to refuse if I don’t want to tell you.”

“On one question. Only one may I refuse.”

“Fine.”

Truthless’s hand gripped his mug slightly tighter as he waited for the Sage. Blueberry Milk narrowed his eyes, trying to come up with something that would be of value.

“Are you experiencing difficulty when casting magic?”

Truthless Recluse bristled, but his gaze cast off to the side as he murmured, “Yes.”

His answer was… shocking. To see the Beast of Deceit admit something so openly made Blueberry Milk do a double take. He blinked slowly, then nodded slowly, “Okay…”

The room was silent as the Sage considered his options. He took a deep breath, “Who were you before you became the Beast of Deceit?”

“A healer.” Truthless narrowed his eyes, “If you make a comment, I’m throwing you off the peak.”

Blueberry Milk laughed awkwardly, but he cast his gaze off to the side, trying to keep the other from lashing out. It was clear from his tense shoulders and his flickering gaze that Truthless Recluse was uncomfortable, so Blueberry Milk needed to watch his mouth and hold his tongue from his normal remarks.

He swirled the contents of the mug Truthless gave him, still unsure if it was safe.

“I didn’t poison it.” Truthless muttered, taking another slow sip of his own drink, “You came here because of your pity, I need not to fight you here.”

The Sage hummed softly, then took a slow sip. It was only slightly bitter, an oddly warm flavor he’d never had in the mix. Blueberry Milk smiled at the other, “This is unique, I’ve never had something like this!”

Truthless Recluse nodded, but remained silent.

Blueberry Milk finished his sip, placing the drink down on the counter before speaking up again, “So… Do you have another name besides Truthless Recluse or the Beast of Deceit?”

The other froze, his eyes going wide as magic flickered in his palms. Truthless shook his head, his voice low as he growled, “I’m not answering that.”

There was a beat before Blueberry Milk shrank back, taking a quick sip of his drink, whispering, “Okay.”

Two questions were left, and the Recluse had to answer them. Blueberry Milk thought of the other, his terror toward the Sage trying to get close to him. He glanced at the walls behind Truthless, his eye catching a small portrait sitting on the counter. It was a small painting of a blueberry bird.

Blueberry Milk smiled at the picture, softening his tone, “Do you still care about other living creatures?”

“Yes.”

“Why do you stay here, then?”

“Elaborate.” Truthless Recluse narrowed his eyes, “There’s no correlation between your questions.”

The Sage perked up slightly, “Oh, there is! If you still care about others, why keep yourself alone. You must be so lonely, especially for a former healer; who worked constantly to save others, without that help yourself!”

Truthless blinked, but Blueberry Milk wasn’t done, “I want to know why you hide, especially when you wielded magic now lost to society-!”

Shadows surrounded Blueberry Milk, seizing his wrists. Truthless stood over him, his eyes glowing softly in the looming darkness.

“You want to know why?!” Truthless smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes, “Thousands crumbled in my care because I was weak. I couldn’t protect them from my own hands, and I hurt them all.”

Truthless laughed, shaking his head wildly, “I go back down there, and everyone you care about will follow suit. Your pity means nothing, Sage.”

“You know nothing-”

The magic suddenly vanished, and Truthless stumbled backward, a raspy cough leaving his throat. He shook his head, his hands tightly balled into fists as he backed away from the Sage. Around his fingertips, the pale dough darkened to a dark black, drawing harsh lines down his forearm.

Blueberry Milk sprang up, hesitantly taking a step toward the other cookie, “Truthless-?”

“Go AWAY!” The other glanced up, tears flowing down his face in buckets. He inhaled sharply, his voice quieter as he muttered, “You can’t help me, Sage.”

Blueberry Milk frowned, “The magic is hurting you… Truthless… why?”

The other slumped to the floor, shaking his head, “Go. Your questions are up.”

“Are you trying to crumble yourself?!” The Sage took another step forward, watching with horror as the lines on the other’s dough grew.

Truthless was silent, tears still running down his face as he pressed his back up against the wall, trying to hide his face from the Sage.

Blueberry Milk froze, his mind running wildly as he tried to come up with a solution. He pressed his hand to the mark on his forehead, a memory flying to the forefront of his mind.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ Flashback✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Truthless stood near him, just a short time before their final battle, staring at twin rivers running through a cave in the peak’s side. The Sage was bound in his shadows, squirming as the other smiled softly, “These rivers run from the Lake of Truth, splitting here into Truth and Deceit.”

He paused, tilting his head, “If I throw you, Sage, into the Lake of Truth, I wonder where you’d turn up.”

“The River of Truth and Deceit.” The Sage straightened, “If it starts from Truth, wouldn’t it only end with truth? These rivers do not change…!”

Truthless turned slowly, his eyes narrowing, “You know nothing.”

Despite the Recluse’s tense demeanor, the Sage pressed on, “Where does the river change?”

“I do not know where. I know what I was told.” Truthless hissed.

The Sage perked up, lifting up into the air with his excitement, “Why do you trust in what you were told? Have you ever experimented?”

To prove a point, Blueberry Milk walked over to the river’s edge before Truthless could react. Confidently, he stepped onto the surface of the river, finding purchase. He placed both his feet onto the river’s surface, turning around to face Truthless Recluse, whose face paled slightly.

“Is this even a river?”

Truthless was silent for a moment before shrouding the Sage in shadows, dragging him away from the river and into a field right by his Spire.

“That river should’ve destroyed you, made you anew.”

“I know who I am, I do not fear the truth of my flaws, I embrace it. The river need not take me.”

Truthless growled, and magic surged around him.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ End✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

The Sage blinked slowly, then sighed softly as he made his decision. Dark Moon Magic surrounded his fingertips, forming a portal underneath the Recluse. Dark robes disappeared through the portal, a soft splash sounding off from the other side of the portal.

Blueberry Milk hopped through himself, hovering just above the spot where the Recluse fell. He glanced around, his eyes going wide. The cave walls were a unique mix of writhing shadow and glowing light, spilling into each other in small rivulets all over the gold-and-silver rocks.

He shook his head, ignoring the beauty of the cave in favor of watching the Recluse’s form disappear under the surface of the lake, the murkiness eventually shielding him from sight.

“I’m sorry, Recluse.” He whispered, shaking his head softly. Blueberry Milk floated over to the edge of the river, patiently waiting for his other half.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

If he wasn’t sinking underneath the unforgiving surface of the Lake of Truth, tears would still be streaming down the Recluse’s face. He wanted nothing more than to climb out of the river and tackle Sage, but he couldn’t fight the pull of the river. It would hold him for a millennia trying to uncover the truth.

He tried to fight the cloying feeling of slipping away, but the lull of the river’s embrace was much more pleasing than the sickening feeling of drowning. Truthless felt himself relax into the magic surrounding him, and his vision suddenly shifted.

Once again, he was back in the empty meadow, the grass soft against his dark robes. Truthless squeezed his eyes shut, whispering, “I know you’re there Deceit.”

He waited with baited breath, but no cocky response came. Instead, there was a soft laugh.

Truthless felt a hand on his shoulder, making him tense up as the voice spoke, “That trickster did a number on you, didn’t it Nilly?”

“Not my name, Deceit.”

“That’s not mine either, Nilla.”

Truthless spun around, ready to use his magic against the Light of Deceit. Instead, gentle hands caught him, a new Light smiling over him.

“You really dug yourself a hole, didn’t you? Your ever-growing love of self-deprecation, along with refusal to let yourself feel, poor Nilla…”

The Cookie of Deceit stiffened, “You cannot fool me, Deceit. I don’t feel hope.”

“Must I prove to you I am not Deceit?” The Light hummed softly, glancing down at the dark roots of Dark Moon Magic running down the Recluse’s arms.

White magic surrounded the Light, enveloping Truthless Recluse in a warm bath of healing light. He hissed softly, the affected dough burning under the Light’s touch. Within seconds, however, the magic rescinded, and Truthless froze. The black lines faded to white, the jagged lines softening into gentle swirling patterns.

“What…?” Truthless whispered softly, holding his hands out incredulously. He tightly closed his eyes, shaking his head as he reopened them. His arms didn’t change.

The Light smiled softly, “Your magic should be changed as well.”

Truthless tilted his head and slowly opened his hand, letting his magic flow through his dough. Trails of light burst from his palm, swirling before being hastily dissipated by the Recluse, who drew his hand back in horror.

“Light Moon Magic?” he could feel the tears welling behind his eyes. Ever since he corrupted, it seemed the other type of magic was lost to him, and with it, to Cookie kind as a whole. He turned to the Light, who had moved closer to him.

Gently, the Light placed its hand over his souljam, “You have learned your lesson, don’t you think? All this self-deprecating isolation has taken its toll, but the Cookie world needs a light bringer, don’t you think? You know the jamshed that could happen if you stick by her side. You know it's wrong.”

He glanced down, “She’ll kill me…”

“She won’t be able to. Not if you wield the light again.”

Truthless’s gaze shifted to the Light, shaking his head slowly, “I- I can’t. I don’t deserve forgiveness-”

“If you didn’t, do you think I’d appear in the Lake of Truth? No, little Nilla, Deceit would be here, spreading its lies. You are ready, you just have to try.”

The Light paused, its voice teasing as it spoke again, “Besides, there’s a very eager cookie ready to help you!”

Truthless felt heat rush to his face, and he huffed softly, “I won’t make him.”

“Nilly, I think your problem will be keeping him away.”

The Light’s form started to dissolve into the growing white fuzz around his vision, “Good luck, Pure Vanilla Cookie.”

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Blueberry Milk was starting to worry. It has been at least an hour since he dumped his other half into the Lake of Truth, with barely a ripple to give him some semblance of hope of the other’s return.

He was currently in the middle of trying not to nod off, occasionally using his magic to send a shiver through his veins to stay awake. He knew he would eventually lose to the monster that is exhaus  tion, but he’d go down fighting. Blueberry Milk let out a petulant huff, shaking his head.

“Where are you, Recluse…?”

Blueberry Milk blinked, his eyelids weighing down like lead as he tried to pry them open.

Then, he saw something breach the surface of the water, a slow movement that cleared his sleep-deprived brain. He practically ran toward the river, reaching out toward the hand above the surface of the water. Blueberry Milk gently tugged the hand upward once he got a grip, slowly revealing Truthless Recluse’s face. He noted the sickly blue mark on the other’s forehead had turned into a soft brown as he brought the Recluse onto the shore. His robes had also softened to a light blue, with a paler color of gold around the edges, but still undeniably Truthless.

For a moment, the other was completely still. Blueberry Milk’s heart raced, panic building as he questioned his hasty decision. Did he kill the other half of his souljam? Was he wrong-?

To his relief, Truthless hastily sat up, nearly smacking the Sage in the face as he wildly coughed, expelling the river’s contents onto the shoreline. Truthless stayed hunched over, his chest heavily rising and falling as his breathing slowly evened out. Blueberry Milk stayed silent, patiently waiting for the other.

Truthless finally glanced at Blueberry Milk, his face paling as he froze. Blueberry Milk said nothing, simply tilting his head and smiling at the Recluse. It reminded the Sage of how Sapphy and Capple had acted when he first made them a homecooked meal. It wasn’t a bad panic, it was a panic that came from the realization that suffering was over.

“You-” Truthless’s voice was less gravelly than normal, a slight hesitation to his typical confidence, “...Why?”

“There’s children’s tales about this Lake, how it rewrites your existence. I presume some cookies wandered here and made mistakes.”

“I told them not to.” Truthless whispered, his shoulders slumping as he glanced down. A slight frown appeared on his face as he glanced at his robes. He shifted slightly, placing his hands in his lap. Where shadows had crawled up his arms now lay an intricate lacing of white scarring.

Blueberry Milk beamed, excitedly exclaiming, “Your arms healed!”

Truthless nodded, still keeping his focus on his hands. The Sage moved closer to Truthless, taking the other’s hands in his own. He gently squeezed Truthless’s hands, whispering, “you know, you never answered my question. Why was your magic hurting you?”

The other stiffened, then sighed softly, “I used to be the source of Light Moon Magic. Using only Dark Moon Magic had… adverse side effects.”

Blueberry Milk’s eyes lit up, “The source of Light Moon Magic?!”

The Sage sprang upwards, his feet lifting off the ground as he squealed softly, “That means you’re the former Virtue of Knowledge! P-”

Truthless’s hand quickly met the other’s mouth, as light moon magic swirled around him in flurried panic. He shook his head firmly, whispering, “Don’t.”

Blueberry Milk slowly backed away, his excitement wearing off as he muttered, “Sorry…”

Truthless sighed softly, “I don't deserve that title, never did.”

Both were silent as Truthless took a deep breath, letting the light magic slowly dissipate into the air. Blueberry Milk slowly tilted his head, then sprung up, “Well, let’s get out of this doom and gloom, shall we?”

He held out his hand toward the Recluse, a bright smile on his face as the other hesitantly took the offer. Sage tried to hover in the air, but his magic surged, making him collapse back into the Recluse’s arms. Truthless made a soft noise of surprise, magic automatically flying out around him to lessen the blow of the fall. Sage blinked slower and slower until his breathing even out, and his eyes stayed closed.

“He’s asleep…?” Truthless whispered, guilt settling in his heart.

Shit.

He hadn’t felt this openly since…

Truthless shook his head, he needed to stop dwelling on things, Sage just passed out on top of him, he should check if he’s okay!

(He hated how he knew his old Pure Vanilla-esc instincts were coming back)

Hands outreached, he summoned a glowing portal back into his home underneath the spot he was laying, huffing as he fell onto his bed. The illusions had faded, leaving the soft yellow wallpaper uncovered, light filtering into the room making everything soft and glowy.

Truthless Recluse Pure Vanilla, slipped out from underneath the Sage’s weight, settling on the side of his bed. He gently touched the other’s arm, the vital check spell coming back to him, it was his nature after all, to be a healer.

Exhaustion, that was it. He was extremely tired, having missed nearly two fucking weeks worth of sleep. Truthless scoffed, rolling his eyes. Even he slept recently (and he was terrible with his own health… don’t ask how long it's been since he’s eaten…)!

His magic faded, and he was hit with a sudden wave of nausea. Truthless groaned under his breath, his inexperience with Light Moon Magic seemed to make his stomach roll…

Surely the Sage wouldn’t mind him sleeping in his bed.. right? Didn’t matter now, he was about three seconds from passing out anyway…
