Chapter 1: Strange world (Strange Bird)

Chapter Text

Wemmbu flew over the end, mace in hand and invisible players after him. Right, he didn't want to deal with this so early on but god fucking damn Lettuce for sending players after him even after he escaped prison! I mean come on, give him a break. He was half delirious and his right wing was injured pretty badly, his feathers were mattered and some feathers missing from it, prison isn't nearly as fun as you expect it to be.

Another pang of pain shot through his back as he had no choice but to descend down, his wings couldn't take his weight anymore. Fuck Lettuce, fuck Lopezz, everything was so blurry. The collar squeezing around his neck was also making it harder to breathe. Logically speaking, Lettuce shouldn't have been able to get his hands on this. Wemmbu had seen this exact device selling on 2b2t when he was a player there.

Every hour or so the collar around Wemmbu's neck would beep red before potions of slowness and harmness filled his system —he doesn't want to recall the fact how many times he's thrown up because of it— having chugged ten bottles of invisibility potions during his invisible knight arc (who even gave him the name invisible knight? He can't recall but it might've been Parrot.) He would say that he was quite used to magic overload, his eyes are a proof of that. Gone were the light shade of purple in exchange for dark purple almost closer to black.

Wemmbu was tired but so close, if he could just make it to the main island, he could reach Minute. Minute would help him but before he even could, Wemmbu crash landed on cold end-stone. By now the hunters have caught up to him. He didn't have time to think before an excruciating pain went up his body, oh fuck one of them stepped on his wing. Wemmbu hissed in pain, he was out of wind charges as well, there was no way that his mace would be useful to him now. Wemmbu let out a choked cry as another grabbed him by his hair —he regretted having long hair, just gave them more to grab on during combat— and pulled him up.

Everything hurt, he was so close to home, to Minute, to Egg but fuck his life, he can't have one nice thing can he? Another dosage of potions filled his system and he basically went limp. Distantly he saw Lettuce standing by the portal, looking as smug as ever —if Wemmbu had it his way then he would wipe that smirk right off that bastard's face— Lettuce only sighed upon seeing Wemmbu as if this was hurt him rather than Wemmbu.

“Wemmbu, I told you already. Stop trying to escape, the law is only here to help you.” Lettuce chided lightly as if talking to a small child, Wemmbu glared at him though the fog in his mind was making it hard to think. He opened his mouth to speak, but immediately hackled over in a coughing fit. “You were doing so good these past few weeks, we even had a breakthrough. Why would you go ahead and ruin all your progress?”

Wemmbu didn't like the way Lettuce was gazing down at his wings, in this server hybrids weren't really known to openly share their traits unless you really couldn't hide them, like ears or tails, Lettuce silently gestured for one of the guards to let him go and Wemmbu immediately crumpled right in front of Lettuce's feet without anyone holding him up. “I've been nice to you but you have to understand Wemmbu, your actions have consequences.” Yeah no. Fuck that. There has to be something he could use, his pupils darted around if he could get to an enderchest...

Though Wemmbu didn't get anymore time to think as a sudden rumble overtook the End. A portal in the swirling colours of purple and green opened up below him, Wemmbu in that moment could only think of one thing; what the fuck. He could hear the abrupt cut of Lettuce's scream as the portal closed just as quickly as it opened. He was falling and for some reason his wings would would not comply with him to try and lift him up, multitude of colours filled his vision and he swears he saw flashes of places he's never been to before, flashes of people he didn't think he'd see, flashes of his brother. His vision quickly went black as he fell.

Wemmbu didn't really know what happen but all he could feel was the jolting pain and the heat from the.... sun? There was no way, was he really outside? That thought snapped Wemmbu out of his stupor as he quickly sat up, ignoring how his muscles screamed at him. He seemed to be in a mesa biome. The same one Wemmbu was sure Flame lived in. So whatever that portal was just led him outside of the End?

Wemmbu wasn't complaining, he was glad more so. Though despite the fact he was free —temporarily or whatever he didn't wanna think about that right now— he was gonna make the Law fucking pay for what they did to him. Getting up, he dusted the sand off his jumpsuit, ew the Law really had no fashion sense.

If Wemmbu had to guess, his best bet would be to go to Flame, since well, he was severely undergeared but also the fact that Flame was technically the reason he was captured anyways. Before he could make a move, snap of wings gained his attention. Wemmbu was quick to look up and saw... Parrot? What was this guy doing over here. Wemmbu frowned, the bird was also partially the reason he was sent to prison, if only Parrot didn't expose his identity...

That didn't seem to matter as Parrot landed in front of him, yeah no the last time Wemmbu saw Parrot, he was in better conditions than... Whatever the hell this was. Wemmbu blinked, was that Parrot wearing a crown? He didn't even get a chance to say anything as he was pulled into a suffocating hug by the aforementioned man. Wemmbu froze up, what the fuck. The Parrot he knew would never do this, should he just mace whoever this was?

A part of him won't lie, he likes being in the comfort of his brother, it has been so long. Parrot was squeezing the life out of him, as if he didn't want to let go and Wemmbu won't lie, Parrot was definitely crushing his already broken bones, “Buddy.. I think that's enough.”

Parrot either didn't seem to hear him or just didn't care, he just kept on hugging Wemmbu. “You're alive. You are actually alive." Wemmbu could feel the softness of Parrot's wings wrap around Wemmbu —he wasn't usually a touchy feely person— this was so weird. “Uh yeah. Can't kill me that easily." Parrot pulled away to scan his face. Okay weirdo. “When Spoke said he messed with the— I didn't think that of all people— bro it has been so long.”

Yeah so, Wemmbu was completely lost! He was sure Parrot had gone crazy because the stupid bird was just now mumbling to himself. Taking a step back and out of Parrot's grip. “Yeah so this has been fun and all but I have things to do...” Parrot snapped his head up and took a step forward. “No.” He raised an eyebrow, no? Parrot seemed to realise what he said as he clarified. “Look uh- just come with me. I'll explain everything and besides...” Parrot looked Wemmbu up and down. “You've seen better days.”

Wemmbu didn't like the tone Parrot used, it felt so...weird. Was he gonna go with Parrot? HELL NO! He checked his inventory, he still had one potion of invisibility left. Whatever, he was better figuring this out by himself. He didn't trust Parrot. “I appreciate your hospitality but like I gotta go bro.” With that he splashed the potion on himself, ignoring Parrot's shriek and barely dodging the arms coming to grab him. Wemmbu turned tail and ran. He could still hear Parrot behind him, asking him to come back and Wemmbu had never heard Parrot this desperate. This was a whole new level and something he was not gonna be dealing with.
