The woods surrounding Jujutsu High were peaceful, the summer night air filled with singing cicadas. No curses in sight. Just the bright, full face of the moon and splatter of stars that could be seen through Tokyo’s light pollution. The birds scattered from the trees as a large animal came barreling through the brush. The canine had saliva dripping from its maw, jaws open and bright, yellow eyes wide with the hunt. Heavy footfalls sent vibrations through the ground. Two shikigami flanked the larger wolf, noses tilted towards the grass.
The three broke into a sprint and reached a small clearing. The sorcerer in the center had already been detected by the canines who ran for him. The largest of them skidded to a stop in front of the sorcerer, who in turn looked down on him, long lashes framing his deep blue eyes. “You tired yet, Itadori?”
Yuuji’s tongue lolled from his mouth, panting from the intense exercise. Kuro and Shiro flanked Megumi, laying down, clearly exhausted. Yuuji’s tail smacked the ground wildly, looking up at Megumi eagerly. Megumi rolled his eyes and pet over Yuuji’s ears.
The werewolf nudged his cold nose into Megumi’s hand, urging him to continue, until he heard Megumi’s stomach growl. His ears immediately twitched and focused in on the sound. Yuuji whined, tilting his head.
Megumi looked away, “I’m fine. I’ll eat when we get back. Gojo just got me a new supply.”
Yuuji stood up, his head reaching Megumi’s shoulders, large even in this form. He butted his snout into Megumi’s back, pushing him forward. Megumi frowned, “Itadori.”
Yuuji wasn’t deterred. Megumi silently released the demon dogs and put his fingers into the thick fur of Yuuji’s neck, walking beside him back towards the school.
Once they reached the building, Megumi crouched down by the bush where he’d stashed Yuuji’s spare change of clothes. He didn’t have to turn around to hear the creaking and cracking of bones while Yuuji changed back to his normal body. Megumi kept his head turned away but handed Yuuji the pile.
“Thanks, Fushiguro!” Yuuji chirped, pulling on the sweat shirt, while simultaneously trying to tug the leaves from his hair.
Only when he had finished dressing did Yuuji put a hand on Megumi’s shoulder, eyeing him, “You really are hungry.”
Megumi opened his mouth to question him when his tongue ran over his teeth, feeling his elongated fangs. He huffed his irritation. “Haven’t eaten in a few days that’s all, and using my technique makes me hungry.”
“You really don’t eat every day?” Yuuji’s brows rose. “I know vampires are different and all but that sounds like it sucks.”
“Because you eat the entire fridge every single day,” Megumi replied, leading Yuuji around the side of the building to the door.
They usually slipped out a window, but once Gojo had caught onto their antics of sneaking out to let Yuuji stretch his legs, he left the door unlocked until they came back.
“It’s a werewolf thing. I think,” Yuuji shrugged, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.
Megumi raised a brow, not entirely convinced. Yuuji pouted as they went back inside. He could smell the restlessness on Megumi and he was reluctant to leave him.
“You’re staring,” The vampire grumbled, not meeting Yuuji’s eyes.
Yuuji gnawed on the inside of his cheek. “I was just thinking.”
Megumi snorted, “First time of the decade then?”
“Asshole,” Yuuji mumbled. “I’m trying to be nice.”
That got Megumi’s attention. He eyed Yuuji curiously. “Go on then.”
Yuuji hesitated, his amber eyes a bit nervous. “Have you ever actually drank from something alive?”
“No,” Megumi shook his head. “Not since I was first changed, but even then it was just rats and rabbits. Once, Gojo basically forced his arm into my mouth. I didn’t let him try that again though. I didn’t want him to end up as a vampire too.”
Yuuji nodded along and asked, “Do you want to?”
“What?” Megumi arched his brow.
Yuuji raised his hands, “That came out weird. I just meant maybe it would taste better fresh?”
Megumi’s eyes narrowed suspiciously, “Maybe. I don’t know. Why are you so interested?”
Pink dusted over Yuuji’s cheeks, pausing as they reached Megumi’s door. “Well, I heal fast and I don’t think werewolves can be turned into vampires so…hypothetically you could…you know.”
“Are you suggesting I drink from you?” Megumi’s voice was breathy with surprise.
Yuuji smiled awkwardly, “Maybe? What’s the harm?”
“You’re crazy,” Megumi scoffed and grabbed the door handle to his dorm, turning away.
Yuuji put a hand on Megumi’s shoulder, “Wait, Fushiguro. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I just thought I should offer. If I can help, I want to. You’re my friend.”
Megumi paused, his gaze meeting Yuuji’s for a heartbeat before flicking away. “Itadori…”
Yuuji gave him a gentle smile, “If you don’t want to, it’s fine. Say the word and I won’t bring it up again.”
The silence that stretched between them wasn’t uncomfortable, Megumi visibly weighing his options. He mumbled, “Why do you want to help me?”
“Besides you being my friend?” Yuuji tilted his head. “You’re always so quick to help me with werewolf stuff even if I chewed up your shoes. And your pillow. Let me return the favor.”
Megumi sighed. “Just to return the favor?”
Yuuji’s heart fluttered in his chest. He stamped out the butterflies in his stomach, “Yeah. Just a favor between friends.”
The heat in Yuuji’s cheeks wasn’t easily hidden. Megumi’s pale skin seemed to flush as well. He swallowed thickly and nodded. “Okay.”
Yuuji beamed and followed Megumi into his room. The scent of the vampire hit Yuuji’s nose and he bit his tongue to keep from breathing it in. He always smelled so clean, like minty shampoo and cool deodorant.
Megumi sat on the edge of his bed and Yuuji hesitated, rocking back and forth on his heels. He waited until Megumi nodded once, giving Yuuji permission. He took his place next to Megumi, whose pupils had dilated quite a bit.
“You nervous? Your heart is going crazy,” Yuuji’s hand paused in the space between them, wanting to reach out and feel Megumi underneath his palm.
Megumi’s face burned and he mumbled, “Yours is too.”
Yuuji chuckled anxiously. Guess there were some downsides to both of them having super senses. Megumi turned his body towards Yuuji, gesturing for him to move the sweatshirt around his neck.
“Can I take it off?” Yuuji asked, his fingers hesitating at the hem.
Megumi bobbed his head. Yuuji pulled the hoodie from his head, the cool air from the room hitting his flushed skin. They both averted their eyes from the other, but Yuuji didn’t miss the shift from blue to bright yellow in Megumi’s eyes. His stomach growled again, louder, more impatient this time. Yuuji held out his arm and Megumi gently took it.
The yellow of his eyes glowed dimly and Yuuji’s breath caught in his throat. He looked so beautiful. His lashes were soft and long and Yuuji had the urge to kiss his eyelids. Megumi’s touch was soft, moving slowly as he brought Yuuji’s forearm up to his mouth. He looked up at Yuuji again for permission.
“It’s okay,” Yuuji assured him quietly. “Go ahead.”
Relief has Megumi’s shoulder’s slumping. His fangs scraped over Yuuji’s skin before sinking into his flesh. Yuuji winced but the venom from Megumi’s teeth quickly lessened the pain until his head felt light and fuzzy.
Megumi started to drink, slow, conservative mouthfuls at first before he sped up. Yuuji’s heart slammed into his sternum, the butterflies coming back in full force. The sensation of blood being taken was anything but unpleasant. He was practically swooning while Megumi’s plush lips kept contact with his skin.
A small, selfish part of Yuuji preened at the fact that Megumi hadn’t drank from anyone else. Gojo didn’t necessarily count, he was basically Megumi’s father at this point. But that meant no one else had seen Megumi look so relaxed, so effortlessly gorgeous. No one else had experienced the floating feeling brought on by the vampire’s venom.
Yuuji nearly passed out when Megumi pulled away just enough to lick over the wound, dragging the escaping blood with his tongue, soothing the burn of the puncture marks. Yuuji cursed his supernatural healing as the wounds closed up before his eyes, not allowing Megumi to continue to draw more blood from him with his tongue alone.
Megumi’s eyes returned to their normal, calming blue and he blushed furiously. “Are you alright? I might’ve taken too much, I’ve never really done this before.”
Yuuji mentally kicked himself for gawking. Megumi was practically glowing. He smiled,
“I’m fine. Are you feeling better?”
Megumi nodded, albeit a bit embarrassed. “Yeah. It…that helped a lot. And you were right. It…it does taste better.”
Oh.
Yuuji bit his tongue while he forced himself to keep still instead of prancing around the room proudly. Megumi liked the taste of him. He had satisfied him. Yuuji’s eyes darted from Megumi’s lips, which had a small smudge of blood trailing down to his chin.
“Good,” Yuuji tried, and failed, to sound normal. “Don’t hesitate to come to me again if you need it. Like I said, I heal crazy fast so you’re not going to damage me or anything.”
Megumi scooted a bit closer, “Maybe. I’ll think about it.”
Yuuji couldn’t hide the disappointment on his face. “I’m being honest! You can have my blood whenever.”
A small laugh was pulled from Megumi’s lips. “It almost sounds like you liked it.”
Yuuji’s heart skipped and he looked away. No one had ever made him feel like this before. All of the tender awkwardness was more than he could handle. “Maybe I did. It felt kind of nice.”
“You’re so weird,” Megumi smiled affectionately, his fangs pinning his bottom lip that made Yuuji want to bite it even more.
They held eye contact for a beat. Then another. Yuuji fidgeted with the blanket underneath him. “Fushiguro? Can…can I…”
Megumi surged forward, capturing Yuuji’s mouth with his. It was messy and inexperienced but oh so perfect. Yuuji melted into it until they found a rhythm, kissing him back with fervor. He dug his fingers into the surprisingly soft spikes of Megumi’s hair, holding his nape and pulling them even closer.
The bite of their teeth bumping into each other only had Yuuji’s heart beating faster. Megumi’s hands found Yuuji’s waist, holding him tightly that he hoped it left bruises.
The soft kiss grew more hungry with want. Megumi’s tongue pushed at Yuuji’s lips and he let him in. He tasted the sting of iron of his own blood and hints of bitter venom that left him breathless. The clumsy hesitancy was abandoned as Yuuji explored every inch of Megumi’s mouth, their breaths mingling. They only pulled away to gasp for air until crashing back together.
Megumi’s hands trailed up Yuuji’s spine in a way that had him shivering. Yuuji lightly nipped Megumi’s bottom lip and trailed kisses down to his jaw and the column of his throat. He wasn’t entirely sure if it was the wolfish part of himself that had him sucking a mark into Megumi’s pale skin, hoping everyone would see it in the morning, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. He bit into the sensitive skin to hear Megumi’s small noises ejected from his throat.
In turn, Megumi bit at Yuuji’s shoulder until he drew blood, lapping it up eagerly. His hands had settled on Yuuji’s shoulder blades, holding him as close as he could get him.
They finally broke apart, panting. Yuuji gazed down at Megumi’s swollen, pink lips, his pupils blown so wide his eyes looked black. Yuuji was in a similar state. A satisfied smile tugged on his lips when he saw the darkening bruise at Megumi’s throat. Megumi also eyed his own marks that he had given Yuuji.
Yuuji rolled off of him, in favor of laying down next to Megumi and tangling their limbs together, pressing his nose against Megumi’s soft skin to inhale his gentle scent. Megumi chuckled quietly, petting over Yuuji’s head, “You really are a dog.”
“But you like me,” Yuuji grinned, his eyes squishing with happiness.
Megumi kissed the top of Yuuji’s head, “I guess so.”
They lay together until both of their breathing evened out, their heartbeats thumping in tandem, and sleep finally caught up to them.
-
The next morning, Yuuji and Megumi walked out of his dorm, Yuuji dressed in one of Megumi’s uniforms because he refused to leave to go to his own room next door even for a moment. Their fingers were interlaced together and when they reached the practice field, Gojo immediately gasped.
“You two look awfully happy,” Gojo grinned, already pulling out his phone and snapping as many pictures as he could. “Finally made a move, Megumi? Just like your old man.”
Nobara groaned, “Took you idiots long enough. It was getting disgusting having to watch you.”
Megumi had turned bright red and Yuuji was distracted by the camera flashing in his face every half second. Sukuna’s mouth opened up on Yuuji’s cheek, “At least you didn’t have to watch.”
Yuuji smacked a palm over his cheek, “Dude!”
Maki and Panda were smirking knowingly at each other. Panda handed Maki some cash as she smiled triumphantly. “Told you so.”
“Salmon,” Inumaki replied, presumably also smugly grinning beneath his uniform.
Gojo clapped his hands together, “Alright children, show’s over. We’ve got work to do.”
“Since when do you care about work?” Nobara pointed her hammer at Gojo.
“Never,” Gojo shrugged and he turned back towards Megumi. “Now tell us all the details, leave nothing out.”
Megumi bared his fangs, practically hissing at his adoptive father. Yuuji coughed to cover up his laughter.
Nobara sighed, walking away from the group, “I’m actually going to train. Tell me when your gay fest is over.”
If Yuuji had to smack Megumi’s hands away before he could summon Nue to strike Nobara down, she would never have to know.
