Work Text:
The player was in a field, weakily walking, they dropped their sword and dropped to their knees.
The Player was bleeding out, heavily. They finished a ton of battles under the spawn of 15 minutes and are heavily injured and cannot heal.
They are.. basically in the middle of nowhere, bleeding out, staring above at the sky, the grass poking their skin as they lay. Maybe they deserved this, restless nights of hurting people, classifying it as "defending themselves".. at least, that is how they see it.
They never really classified themseves as a hero, despite being called one constantly. All they ever saw in themselves was dissapointment, and they found bliss in this. Their blood soaking the grass, the ground stinging their exposed wounds.
Not like they have much to live for under their name. All they did was fight, constantly. Maybe even bring some important stuff with them, but, other than that, they are useless.. from their point of view. The situation has been fucking their brain up, but they seem to cover it with determination to win.
Even if they did win, what do they get?..
Nothing.
An abyss of eternal silence washed over them, even the wind made their eyes hurt.
They are literally nowhere. No one will help them, no one can help them, they'd die before that happened.
They looked up at the clouds, it was peaceful here, despite their headache pulsing and swallowing their own blood just to get rid of evidence, the sunlight exposing their body, causing their skin to tan slowly.
They looked to their side, no one. Not even above them. Silence was.. deafening. They disliked silence, but in this case it was peaceful. Their head was pounding, they felt their vision getting blurry, as they closed their eyes, passing out on the ground for what felt like hours, until..
They felt.. hands. Someone or something was carrying them, they felt them rushing, but they didn't feel like opening their eyes, not even a squint. They heard.. Kyoko? Just faintly.
"C'mon, please.. please don't die on me.. I'm nearly there.. be a little patient,"
She sounded panicked, muttering to herself. The player suddenly felt their legs rest on a car seat, and their head on someone's lap.
Their eyelids fluttered open to see Kyoko looking down on them with a tense expression, but it lit up when they got up. They felt the car moving, but Kyoko spoke, no, exclaimed.
""Player! Oh my God.. you're alive!.."
They realised, they had bandages on their wounds. They yearned for somebody's touch, anyone, they felt.. relief, and joy, seeing Kyoko so happy and feeling her touch their face in shock. They would've been dead by now.
"Hang on.. please. We're getting you to the hospital.
Kyoko muttered, her eyes nearly tearing up. Her gaze softened, staring down at the Player.
.. Who was driving? Didn't matter much.. till they heard..
"H3Y. QU1T 1T, KY0K0. 1M TR7N4 DR1V3!"
GRIEFER? Of all people.. Griefer? Why's he driving him to the hospital? Doesn't he hate them more than everyone?.. whatever. They were happy to get help, but they did not deserve it, in their perspective.
Also, when the hell did Kyoko and Griefer meet? Did she just grab somebody and take them? I mean, she could've called Calypso.. actually, most likely not. It would take her a while to arrive to the situation as there wasn't even a fast travel to.. wherever they were. So, makes sense she grabbed someone random.
They finally reached the hospital, Kyoko carried the player in the entrance and got to the emergency room as a doctor treated him with care. He passed out before witnessing anything, but he did get up to Kyoko nervously sitting on a chair, watching over them
Player finally got up at full HP and, not long before Kyoko hugged them, hard. They were really startled, but they gave in. Hugging back.
