Summary
Kaladin goes through a very late presentation. Now he has to deal with new social norms, his predestined presentation relating to the nature of investiture across the Cosmere, and the pain and fatigue of his first heat. Dealing with all of these at once is too much for one depressed little wolfy. What else could the Almighty throw at him? And why, of all people, can Kaladin not keep his eyes and heart away from his stupidly pretty blonde best friend?!

Or Kaladin faces the aftermath of his fear of being different from others, and his father’s will to make him a surgeon, with a highly painful first heat. Struggling through dealing with the changes to his body and the way people perceive and treat him he discovers that he can’t handle being away from Adolin. Even though he cannot acknowledge it in his mind, his heart has already decided on marrying Adolin. And Adolin could not be happier to oblige.
